It's palacial, Liza...breathtakingly palacial. It's size is amazing indeed, and because it is pristine...all the more amazing that you can keep it that way. What work you have done! Your love for gardening shows through with these fotos.
...and those Peonys - some of those look good enough to eat.
You do a supurb job...bowing. Chapeau! |

I am immensely honored....,19 Jun '06 6:52 pm
Sjoerd, by your complements! And everybody's ! But I feel a little strange by your enthusiasm...I just presented the garden because of Goose's kind and gentle idea. And it is big, but not so big , like it shows in the pictures... And, I think, my work is exactly the same with all the dedicated gardeners of this Forum, I happen to know for a year now! Full of tenderness and dedication! You know yourself what I mean...I call my garden "my exterior family", or my "green family" . And the problem is, that only myself in the family is a "green finger"...Sometimes, some of my family members ...become antagonistic with the garden (!), believing it steals my love from them! I feel so awful.. And it is tragicomic, really...
And, dear Sjoerd, since you love so much travelling abroad with your wife, and we live so close, will you honor me with your visit , if you ever visit Belgium again? |

Thank you! thank you so much, my dear Liza for giving us the pleasure of touring your beautiful, pristinely garden and be in your magical paradise! Seeing all the stunning pictures of your springtime blooms, abundant flowering shrubs and trees, etc. in your other posts always had me daydreaming about your garden setup and your enthusiasm and exuberance in expression convinced me that you are in 'seventh heaven', but I daren't ask for more than you'd want to share I was wrong in hesitating, you have a very generous heart!
Goose: thank you too for prompting Liza to share these divinely pictures, otherwise.... |

Love those beautiful peonies! And the garden - WOW! Even the lawn is beautifully manicured! Do you garden at night with a head-lamp, like some addicted gardeners I know? You must spend many (happy!) hours in your lovely garden. |

Happy gardening...20 Jun '06 8:46 pm
Well, dear Teecee, I should work at least for 3 hours every day for maintainance during summertime. Which is mostly translated into watering the half of the garden during the hot spells -- I have not installed--yet-- automatic watering... And watering is also a special technique -- NOT ever wetting the foliage , directing the water to the roots only, the temperature fresh, etc. Maintainance in the good season means also weeding, dead-heading ,pruning, attaching, feeding, and ...singing or whispering the sweetest songs of love to your plants, at least telling them how much you love them...
Thank you for the sweet words! |

Liza, it's wonderful for me, lucky me, who had the privelege of meeting your garden (and you, too, my dear friend - but that's another story!) not so very long ago. I just knew that those colours were waiting to burst out. The photographs look lovely, but so much more so - I've been there! I've seen that view, those pots, those lawns! Hee hee...
I hope that one day others in this forum have the chance to do some real time traveling and garden visiting! Believe me, it's the most brilliant affirmation of the love we all share. And there's nothing nicer than seeing colours and warmth of summer flowers! |
