Divine Art on the Peonies ( and a view of a garden...)!17 Jun '06 7:15 am
Here they are again these blessed creatures in our garden! Bur why these heavy and huge magnificent blooms survive for such a short time? I send you some to rejoice with me, before the rain turns them...into petals...
P. S.
I present you now, like a second part, the lady Peonies that survived one of the most violent showers i've experienced --this morning, 19/6!

Truly exquisite ,Liza,
Thank you for sharing such beauty .I have not seen these growing in anyone`s garden - is it true that they do not last very long ? I go to Art Galleries ,and it is rare that anyone can paint flowers that capture the delicacy of blooms such as these .

Peonies.17 Jun '06 8:19 am
Yes, they don't last long -- 7/10 days the whole of the blooms -- and they smell like the David Austin Roses! Some people try to keep them longer as cut flowers in their houses, where they are saved by the wind or the summer rain, which completely destroys them. But they have to be cut, when still being buds. The plant is beautiful and healthy, with deeply cut, shiny, thick leaves. When the flowering period ends, the plant is beautiful in the garden until Autumn. A very easy plant to grow.

Absolutely Divine Liza
I wish we could grow Peonies here in Auckland but the weather does not suit them. South Islanders do however have the pleasure of growing them.
You have such beautiful flowers in your garden and so many.
I would love to see some pix of your overall garden and Im sure the others would enjoy them as well

Sharing the beauty with friends.18 Jun '06 2:23 am
It is the best of blessings sharing the beauty of Nature with friends! From the tiniest wild flower into the huge Peonies the thrill and amazement are exactly the same... Thank you , dear friends!
Concerning presenting, inviting you, sharing the whole of the garden with you, it is something that only now crossed my mind! Because of you, Goose! And it could be also so practical keeping a specific file with the garden , following its progress. Because so far, I only take pictures attracted by the combination of colours.
And this morning I took many pictures of the garden! Being a sunny ,summer bright day, the light is harsh but joyful. Oh! How I'd love all of you be here with me today! To have fun, cook together, eat on the lawn, enjoy like children do... Miracles can happen, though...
I will divide the presantation of the garden in 3 parts. This one is the 1st one:

Such a beautiful garden!18 Jun '06 6:45 am
Dear Lisa, I am so glad you posted these pix of your garden. I had imagined you had a nice layout, but my imagination was nothing like what you have. Simply astonishing! I shall never complain that my garden takes a lot of work again.
Amazingly beautiful! Huge! Intriguing. You should put a copy of this in the "Garden Diaries" forum.

Thank you so much for sharing your pix with us. Your garden is even more beautiful than I had ever imagined. I could tell by your other pix it was going to be something special.
I love the way you have used all those pots in the entrance
and going to the back garden. They alone must take some time to water and care for.
Wonderful....
