8 Jun '06 11:25 pm Well the other rose in my garden Is the this one. This is the first flower, and is atypical in it's apearance. I wonder if the weather has played a role. At any rate it is still lovely to my eyes...and has a faint fragrance. There are several buds, so perhapsthe coming ones will look more like it's supposed to.

16 Jun '06 9:21 am Hi Goose ,
Wairere nursery near Hamilton has 'Handel' .They have it as a climber as well ,recommend it for along a fence .It is disease resistant and repeat flowering .They have a great website with plenty of advice ,and an excellent mail - order service ,though I think their place is worth a visit!

I have checked out the Wairere nursery website for mail order. Their gardens look lovely,I must pay them a visit when Im down that way sometime.
They have the Westerland and Handel.
So I have ordered Handel and will order Westerland later.
Thanks ever so much

16 Jun '06 7:47 pm Yes I think that 'Handel' deserves the honour of being on the fence that joins onto the stone wall in the front garden. I can think of no better place. I hope she will be happy there. pix will follow once planted.
It was your last pix that did it. I think she is just beautiful and your photos are just something else.
