Just stunning, Liza! Such a deep, rich red you have captured from three different sources!

REDS!!!9 Nov '07 11:12 am
What magnificant reds you found to photograph I remember all your wonderful color themed photos from the past. I love the way you have captured these reds in what appears to be very true colors. I have found reds can be tricky, but not for Liza.

Wow, look all what you found in your garden!9 Nov '07 2:03 pm
My favorite batch was Part One with all the panoramic views into your garden. Those are the ones which make me feel the most like I am there. Of course we also got a look at a rather large autumn leaf which was very well attired;) Did you wear Nicolas out or did he just land on a pile of leaves for fun?
You sure do have the reds in force now. The window pansy is a really nice combination of colors and well suited to frame a view out onto your many red flowers in the garden. I wonder what that first photo in the last batch is of? The brilliant red seems to belong to one kind of leaf and really stands out against the very dark leaves below it. I wonder what tree has the dark leaves? Is it a birch of some kind? I wonder if the leaves are darker as a result of the onset of fall.
That Amber Queen is still winking at me and inciting me to buy one. The golden yellow is so rich. And the shape is nice. In general roses without too many petals do better here and this one doesn't seem to be too crammed with petals. The Piccolo rose has an interesting color, red but not straight up red like Mr. Lincoln. It reminds me of my Hot Cocao rose, rather hard to describe.
Thanks for the tour.

Hi, Liza- I really liked the pictures today; that kind of "Chinese lacquer red" really appeals to me! I especially liked the one of the red azalea leaves. Keep 'em coming!!
It's storming and raining AGAIN here tonight!
Cheers!

The rain is back!!12 Nov '07 1:24 am
Hello again dearest ones!!
Well, the garden now has nothing --almost -- to do with the one of my recent photos!! It has been raining with VERY strong winds since the end of last week...The most Autumn leaves are around the lawn...There are still Rose blooms and buds here and there, but I do not feel taking any photos of them....I took the last ones last week , before the climate change , and that's it...
Thank you ALL, for sharing with me this uplifting red-garden love!!
Mark!! Nicholas was over the leaves on his own!! I just turned to see how was he doing, and he was like you saw him in the photo...Naughty baby...
When I post garden-landscape photos, it means that deep-down I would love to have you here with me to stroll around together!! So, Mark, I just LOVE the way you feel! And, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY vote for adopting the gorgeous, and healthy, and scented, Amber Queen lovely lady!!
And here, I will try to post the last Rose-bloom photos I took last week, just before strong rains and winds start..

Wow! Liza! Absolutely brilliant and stunning all these photos that are streaming in! I'm so in-love with them all, especially the autumn reds and orange since being forever autumn-starved in the tropics. The closest that I have are the crotons, as such I've bought another variety last Sunday to 'autumnise'? our garden! Thanks so much for sharing your infectious autumn joy!

Dream a Little Dream12 Nov '07 2:36 pm
Well, Liza, you had some beautiful roses to end the season. Now the two of us will just have to dream of summer days and enjoy the photos of other summer gardens for a few months. Our turn will come again.

It is such a long time....26 Nov '07 10:57 pm
...since I last visited my Diary....I know....Garden and Human Families responsibilities, you see...
But, as I was telling you recently in another thread of mine, I had visited my La Hulpe Nursery for supplies , where I enjoyed all the lovely garden babies there, and......I adopted an adorable new baby: a standard Acer Palmatum "Garnet"!The one with the refined, lace-looking leaves!! It was love at first sight! Oh!! I had been in love years and years with him...But only now it was the moment for him, to become a member of the garden..He became my...Christmas present --- a little early, of course...
(Right here , I had to stop this morning , because of certain Internet problems (?))
So! I was SO glad to find the right spot for an Acer in my garden! Acers love spots protected from strong winds and burning sun...And my garden is wide and open, suffering often by strong winds...
