The "In Love" Diary3 Jul '06 12:54 pm
Liza, just had a chance to go through this post; how wonderful! Within your "gallery" of plants, I saw one I've adored for ages, the Jewel Weed, or Touch Me Not (your 61.46 jpg.), although I've never tried to grow it myself. Basically, I just don't have the room. Okay, since I know, may as well pass it on: the juices in Jewel Weed have a soothing funjicide that make it good for treating althlete's foot, and it helps ease the burn from nettles and poison ivy. (Thankfully, I've never had to try it to prove it.)
Also love the Spiderwort "Awakening of the Beauty" jpg (which I have trouble getting to bloom). And what really hurt, my columbine never bloomed this year, although the leaves are still growing (your "just the two of us" jpg.). Our growing season started earlier than usual this year, summer bounced in... wonder if possibly my columbine will still bloom, even though it usually only has in the latter part of spring. Will have to see.
As for Philippe, and Jacqueline's Renice and Renee, these adorable sweeties are truly divine! Keep up the "slide show" as your season advances. It's so beautiful! Darlene

All shades of pink...6 Jul '06 2:11 am
Hello, hello, again!! Oh! I,ve been so busy lately baby sitting little Philippe, the garden, and my family!... With 35-36 C during the weekend, it was so difficult working out there... But since it becomes dark about 10pm, I worked a lot after baby went to bed.. No holidays for the moment..
Dear Bambi and Naturder, I hope I'll continue with pleasure to send some colourful inspirations as long as the season allows...Afterwards, I will be inspired by our friends of the Southern Hemisphere...
And , as I promised you , I'll send you the best of pinks in the garden! Dedicated to 3 adorable grand daughters and to an eternal little girl: the 3 grand daughters are Dixie's little Kelsie , and also the adorable twins of our sweet Jacqueline! As for the eternal little girl, who adores the colour pink, happens to be living hidden in the heart and the soul of our Head Gardener... That's why reading her gardening texts , we feel extra young, and joyful, and happy...
And , generally, all the pinks are dedicated to the eternally young at heart and soul!! With utmost tenderness!
There will be 3 parts:
The Soft Pinks, The Pinks, and The Indian Pinks.

Soft Pink Blooms6 Jul '06 3:57 am
Wowowowow! Beyond description, my dear Liza! Absolutely stunning! Spectacular! Great variety of gorgeous soft pink flowers, each one superbly captured, and the multi-toned pink in each bloom or a cluster of blooms is remarkable! Thank you so much for sharing these gems and these pink beauties will guide me into deep slumber with sweet dreams as I clock in to bed very soon!!

Pink Perfection!6 Jul '06 5:00 am
My dear Liza, You never fail to amaze me! What a wonderful collection of pink you have.
Absolutely stunning !
I think the pink roses are my favorites. It's a toss up between those and the flower in "soft pink 4" that looks sort of like a daisy, but I'm sure I like your pink roses best.
Thank you for posting them.

Pink part 3 : The Indian Pinks6 Jul '06 8:32 am
And I think they are so.."energising" in the garden! They are mostly represented by an adorable and healthy shrub scented Rose , Manou Meilland. She is planted about 6-7 times around the garden, together with flaming red and golden yellow Roses, emanating stronger colourful energy all together... I just love this vital, joyful energy!
( But I think, I will download the photos early in the morning, because my computer is so late right now and I feel exhausted... I don't want to sleep sitting by my computer...I know you will forgive this inconvenience... We are only humans, not computers... See you tomorrow..)

Pinks6 Jul '06 9:38 am
Dear Liza, what are the whitish -pink flowers in the third photo of the soft pinks ?It looks a bit like campanula ,but I haven`t seen a campanula that delicate colour.
When I think of the beautiful Mediterranean ,I think of white buildings ,with blue sea ,and lush greenery tucked around the hillsides. And always pots of coral-pink geraniums. Liza is right -the bright pink (I like the coral -pink) has an impact ,which Liza expresses as 'energising' .

Energising colours!6 Jul '06 8:23 pm
Good morning , Dixie (and everybody!/or, Good Evening!)
Well, the coral pink is a soft colour, a soothing colour, therefore, not energising at all! Whereas, the brilliant reds and the indian pinks are "strong" colours, very energising, uplifting!
When I have a tenderly soft pink flower in front of me , a face of a baby comes in front of me, like Jacqueline's babies, or little Philippe, even my little Nicholas'face, although he is a grown up baby...Even a white, fluffy kitten...
But when I see these brilliant reds and indian pinks, I feel like....dancing! Very energising colours, indeed!
And the softly pink flower is Campanoula Lactiflora, "Loddon Anna". Very tall, needs always support.
And whenever I find sufficient time, I'll post the indian pinks, as promised...
And , I think, I'll do it right now. The computer's speed is normal. So. Here they are some of the Indian Pinks in the garden. If you have some in your garden, will you post them here for us? Certain Bougainvilleas have exactly this colour right now...Some Fuchias, too..
