Jack, thank you so much for sharing your "Friday photos" with us again! I couldn't ever get bored of "you and your Fridays", as I'm much the same - I can't wait until tomorrow morning when I can have a bit of a potter around, although any photos I might take right now wouldn't be half as impressive as yours, being stuck on the approach to winter! There's lots to clear up though - leaves and so-forth, so it'll be nice to tidy the garden again, even if it only lasts five minutes (like it did last weekend! )
I wouldn't dare to attempt any naming of your flowers here, as I'd probably only show my complete ignorance, but I had fun trying to guess, and will check my guesses against any other replies you get to your post!! (sorry - wimp factor showing itself again!! )

I was away for a week recently ,and just gasped when we drove up the entrance to our home ! Everything was blooming profusely ,just like your garden ,Goose .I have been wondering what your second picture is - the tiny white rose ,as it has turned on a spectacular display for me ....Is it 'Wedding Day '? I have been busy taking pictures ,as some of the roses flower only briefly .
You were going to plant flowers at your entrance gates .How has it turned out ?

Yes the second pic is Wedding Day. I think its so pretty the way it has the light pink and pale yellow through it. My one is covering one of the water tanks and it is usually covered with flowers but this year one side is not flowering so well. I think the poplars are shading it a bit too much now they have grown so big.Maybe time for the Chainsaw.
The flowers at the entrance are doing well, I will
take some pics later in the day when the sun is around there.
Its a lovely time of year isnt it, I am so pleased everything is blooming in your garden too & hope you are getting as much enjoyment from your garden as I am from mine.

Beautiful flowers, colours - and no! We never ever would get sick of such lovely posts! Gardening wandering when having to go to work is the most magical time, even if it's too short. Don't things just take your breath away! And there are always surprises - like, when on earth did I plant that?

I was a bit optimistic about the sun yesterday,it was quite cloudy all day, however the flowers did show off a little and I managed to get a couple of pics.

Really lovely ,Goose .I like the misty effect that the lavender has behing the gorgeous wall .The centre gazania looks like one I have , 'boysenberry 'I think the soft colour is called - mine is in a corner with natives and flaxes ,and I love how it looks there.

About the beautiful Friday photos!27 Nov '06 11:11 pm
Goose! I have admired all these beauties during the past week. But I was really so busy and tired to reply...But I can tell you now, how I am impressed by this soft yellow curly petalled Hemerocallis/Daylily (:3)-- it reminded me of that funny-named "French Lingerie"! And also, by this delicate, fine Iris (:14) with its amazing soft combination of colours! And , of course, I have always been attracted by beautiful, vibrant Geraniums and Pelarginiums like yours( :15, 16)!!
I wish you many more creative, relaxing Fridays!

First of all, I must just apologise to you Goose, for calling you Jack in my last post on this thread! I think I was just a bit over-excited about it actually being Friday and my brain went all squidgy!
These last two photos of yours are great too - I love your stone walls too, and the lavender does create a lovely misty feeling, but that little peach-coloured flower in front (excuse my ignorance, but is that the gazania that Dixie mentions?) is really sweet.

Absolutely beautiful variety of garden flowers you have, Goose! Yes, I too love that lovely stone-walled entrance and the little clusters of flowers lining it! I recognized that pic no. 10 - it's Strelitzia Reginae or commonly called Bird of Paradise or Crane Flower which are also grown in my garden (2 plants still surviving out of 3 initially planted in August last year, though they've yet to flower! ) Thanks for sharing.
