Hi there,Sjoerd. Yes the vege garden does have a full look .Our big main crops of potatoes and pumpkin are grown elsewhere on the farm .We do the same at our new home -the small one grows our beans ,lettuces ,herbs amd so on ,with loads of compost put on each year.In Winter it is now growing mustard to be dug in. I can vaguely remember hearing that growing marigolds in the veg garden does something or other about the bugs ,but I like them because the colour looks good with the greens. That comment should probably have been put in the forum section about organic gardening ,which in my case usually just works accidentally .
Dixie.

Your veggie garden!31 May '06 6:25 pm
Dearest Dixie!
Having no idea of growing veggie gardens (and partially ---knowing my silly self---because I could not eat ...."my own babies"), I immensely admired this very artistic photo with that adorable garden chair in my favorite tone of colour blue! And the yelow marigolds being just perfect living there! And, as the specialists say , the marigolds being the ideal green fly fighters in our gardens : your veggie garden was very practical and very artistic! Just perfect!
And I don't feel like discussing Minka's death . I'd better imagining her among my Roses in my garden, happy and ... alive !!

Another Sentinel2 Jun '06 9:44 pm
This is Sooty,he was my favourite companion. This was taken when he was quite young. Sooty gave us 20 years of companionship, a wonderful friend. We have many photos as he followed me around everywhere. But I thought this suited the Sentinel theme the best.

Although they don't tend to guard very much that actually NEEDS guarding!!

Think I've gone and uploaded those photos in the wrong order - I'm afraid you'll all have to read them backwards to get what on earth I'm going on about!!

Hi Sjoerd and all,
Well I'd never tire of hearing my babies being complimented, so thank you!!
He he, well I was born in Pembury which makes me a Maid of Kent, but I lived from the ages of 4 to 22 in Sevenoaks and still live west of the River Medway, which means I'm a Kentish Maid, so I'm not absolutely sure, although I don't know if I've lived in Kent long enough to be either - some people say you have to have lived there for generations!!!

Aren't animals so precious! Love Wooster guarding the watering can
I have a sentinel very similar to yours Goose. She is a scaredy-cat tho and only follows as far as her food dish! She does like to find a warm spot to curl up in these cold nights
And then there is Splat! the following pic is of her and 2 of her cutesy babies
