The very fragrant "Azalea luteum" !7 May '06 11:26 pm
She is Chinese, golden yellow, with such a sweet, strong, attractive scent!
When we first met at the nursery, she was short, humbly living in a small, plastic black pot, placed somewhere in a corner...But when I walked by her side, I immediately fell in love with her scent, colour, and form of her blooms! I had no idea of her name at the time, but it wasn't important at all...And here she is after 5-6 years living with us, enlightening our hearts and spirits every May. She is sharing her little border with five Roses, another salmon Azalea (:Knaphill "Cecile")-- which is going to bloom at any moment, two Japanese scarlet red -evergreen - short Azaleas, a Geranium Rozanne, red Tulips, Narcissus, blue Anemonas blanda, Mimulus "Orange glow" ,and pansies. Here she is :

Sharing the joy!10 May '06 6:28 am
That's why I share my plants sending their pictures to the Forum, Jacqueline! In order to create in you the same uplifting, sincere feelings of happiness, that simply the site of the real plants creates in me! This could not be anything like arrogance, or exhibition; this is about SHARING HAPPINESS! I cannot offer you the plant itself to make you happy, but I can at least present it to you, through the way my heart beats for it, through the way my eyes embrace it with utmost warmness, admiration, gratitude and respect! My plants always make me feel so humble and grateful...
When you say I succeeded to make you really happy by simply watching these plants, it means we are both lost in the same uplifting divine happiness !! Mission accomplished! THANK YOU for sharing these feelings, Jacqueline!
P.S.
In your beautiful Peacock website I discovered we share the same admiration and enthusiasm for our ...blue Plumbagos! But ALL your plants are gorgeous!

Sharing Happiness!10 May '06 8:10 pm
Bible quote: "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving"
Ultimately, it's a beautiful cycle/process of sharing, through giving and receiving that brings joy, peace and love into our lives!
Thanks, dear Liza for your selfless kindness in wanting to share your happiness and uplift our days! You described your feelings so well! On the other hand, I'm at a loss for words to describe my gardening happiness. However, I too, can sense the same warmth, happiness, admiration, gratitude, blessed, etc. whenever I'm in my garden (even though it's a teeny, weeny one!) or looking out from my car porch when it's raining (aargh!! it's been raining most evenings for months!!). Apart from this, I'm soooo... happy whenever I'm in the office and am able to access this forum to see all the beauty and activities in it! Virtual gardens without boundaries, how glorious!!
Thanks too for your comments about my plants! Though not many, they're my treasures, fruits of our labor!

Well Liza, aren't you the lucky one!. You have found such a remarkable plant here..and have have placed with it some very nice complimentary plants. The entire composition just looks fabulous. That last piccy.... Liza, I could just eat it with a spoon! chuckle.
Wouldn't I just lurve to add one of those to my little lottie...never mind that I don't have room for it. Ha ha ha, exceptions and room could be made.
Well, this just goes to show the value of this site once again. You can discover things here that really are inspirational. I like it that this azalia is a fragrant one. I don't know a great deal about azalias, but having a noticable fragrance is unusual in azalias, isn't it? I buy dwarf azalias 2-3 times a winter here as a house plant, but I don't have one on the lotie. They are lovely plants
As Liza has said, perhaps one can't have the plants themselves, but seeing these fotos here can still make you feel good inside.........and give you ideas for yourself for the future.
