The return of mugsy the cat
5 May '06 4:53 am Dear Moosey
You have been undermining my not very strong resistance to cat-charms of late. It does not make sense for me to keep cats in my tiny house, together with four cats-are-for-chasing-up-trees-or-better-still-biting dogs...
But I enjoy your pics and stories - and am touched by the story of Mugsy. She would be - I think - my favourite amongst all your cats with her wacky look and wacky ways.
Rest in Peace, Mugsy

Thanks Jack
5 May '06 5:23 pm Jack, Thanks so much for writing about her. Dear little Mugsy. I know now that she probably won't ever be found, and she'll be peaceful somwhere covered in a blanket of fallen leaves.
The natural order is for an old cat to pass away in her own time and way, without trying to prolong the inevitable with visits to the vet and drug regimes. We love our vet, though! The nicest thing of all is that her colouring is exactly the same as the leaves and mulch etc. in the autumn gardens. The ultimate gardening-cat camouflage!

Mugsy is Found!
9 May '06 6:10 pm She appeared in a bathroom in a house way down the road three days ago. They've been looking after her, not knowing who she belonged to. Now she is back home, very thin, but behaving in her usual dorky manner. My goodness!
When we first moved here Mugsy had a collar with an inscribed tag - 'Disabled cat' and her phone number and name. I will definitely get her a new one. I am so, so happy. I never thought I would see her again! Right - I'm defrosting some fresh steak and rabbit mince. Mugsy the Cat - you little legend!

9 May '06 9:19 pm What a lovely surprise! Here we are digging a grave in my garden to bury a friend's old Border Collie who is very near the end of her long life...

The Tazzy miners are safe and Mugsy is too
Fabulous how things can be so uplifting even tho they don't involve one personally or are miles away.
