18 Apr '06 6:02 pm Here is a silly picture of Rusty the Dog taken in the Craigeburn Forest Park. It's a short day walk through beech forest to a flat top called 'Helicopter Hill'.

Oops - No Picture
19 Apr '06 8:08 am Oops. I can't work out how to add a picture. I have followed all instructions. So I guess that makes me the silly one! Unless I have to click that little 'image' box, which the instructions did not mention.
But let me say that all these little lift-off lights flashed and flashed, so Rusty in the mountains 'went' somewhere! Web-master Eggy, you need to help a poor old-lady gardener who has lost her forum attachment!

Mountain + dog
22 Apr '06 2:01 am Beautiful rugged mountains, Moosey! They remind me a little of our Cape mountains, but are very different from our own over here. Having carefully considered all four creatures in the photo, I have sadly come to the conclusion that Moosey is not one of them. She must have been the photographer! So far all I have found are a few cleverly enegmatic shots of the Head Gardener... perhaps there is need of an assistant photographer around the place from time to time... When I moved here I had visions of regular walks in the mountains, botanising with what is known as the Thursday Club. THen the school got hold of me... and I have never climbed with the club However I've scaled a few peaks with the school carrying a five-day rucksack ( = sweating, not embarressed!)

New Zealand Mountains
23 Apr '06 6:02 pm Tramping on the South Island New Zealand mountain tracks - sounds like your next big overseas holiday, Jack! There is a good system of huts, often with good firewood dumps, and all you'd need is the most amazing super-breathable goretex state-of-the-art parka, serious layers of other high-tech cold-wet clothings, and proper boots. You might spend a lot of time possibly wearing your parka - NZ bush tends to the wet, and is challenging (time to mention the three or four tramping tragedies so far this year, when visitors from Britain have decided to 'do a day walk' on their own and then have come to grief).
I will take some pix when I do this week's day-tramp - a good excuse to show some of the NZ natives in their natural place! Now I have learnt to post to my own forum, that is....
