For an enjoyable article about seed catalogs, see newspaper columnist Rob Bignell's "Seed catalogs teach patience" at http://www.press-citizen.com/opinion/cornfieldsoul/011303cornfieldsoul.htm.

Dear Moosey,I just love that you designed your pathways along the trails that your dog made on your property. I have two large dogs, Abby (half Chow/half Sheperd) and Zeke (half Lab/half Golden) and I did exactly the same with them. It has worked out very nicely, both for the garden and the dogs. I was also given the tip that since I had only a medium sized lot, I should leave the perimeters unplanted (as paths themselves) because dogs always want to run the borders of their territory. That's helped too.Lisa J.

This website is the best read I've had in a long while, and one I will be keen to share with other gardeners. It's also the best website I have come across and feel congratulations are in order. Your thoughts on gardening reflect my own, however, our garden is much smaller (about half an acre) and is part of an orchard (about 10 1/2 acres in total). This is definitely one site I will be visiting on a regular basis.

I have been enjoying your site for over a year now. Whenever I have a little time and need a pick me up, I look at your wonderful garden pictures and allow myself to be mentally carried away. I am a novice gardener and find great inspiration in your lovely garden. Thank you!Charlotte

I have been reading about and looking at your garden and want to tell you how much I enjoy it. Your site is easy to negotiate and filled with wonderful stories and pictures. I was only just getting good at taking pictures of my gardens with a 35mm camera when my 2 children gave me a digital camera for Christmas and now I have to get used to it. If I practice enough, maybe I can take pictures as good as yours... they are beautiful. Your garden stories and history are a delight to read. I thank you for sharing your garden. Your son gave you a beautiful gift in this site and I will be a regular visitor.

I really enjoy your website. Your garden looks very lush and relaxing. I especially enjoyed the picture of the bench with the stepping stones made of smooth river rock. It inspired me to try the same in a shady resting area in a corner of my garden. Thanks for providing a welcoming place on the web for garden admirers.

Dear Moosey, your web site is one of the most facinating sites I have visited. I envy you at 45 degrees south, I am 49 degrees north, and just that much colder to make my planting a zone 7-6 depending on the location in the garden. I have absorbed alot from your website, but most of all I learned that...no amount of planning makes a beautiful garden, experimentation and going with your instincts works best!!. Thanks for sharing your garden with us...Joanne
