sorry about my spelling!!!
this is my first post here... sorry if i am in the wrong place or something to post. i've only looked at one thread and thought i must join up... and my friends get sick of me talking about gardening So i will have a good look and read around after i post. I desperatally want to show someone my garden!
Okay, this is my third veg patch. I've always lived inner city, so sometimes it is hard to find cultivatable land. But the day I started gardening and failed miserabally I fell in love. I'm a boy and 27 years old. I have many years of gardening left in me. I hope that one day it might be more than a hobby
I have no idea whatsoever about plant spacing. so i planted in a crate so i could try and space things. I ended up planting everything too close LOL... this photo is of a while back and now everything is growing over everything else. I'm letting them battle it out. they seem to be having fun.
now i'll try and make the photo come up.
Oh... the plants in there are 4 sunflowers up the back, then on the right 2 zucchini plants and four bean plants. in the middle i have 10 corianda plants and five capsicums (peppers), on the right i have some carrot plants, a few died . and 10 lettus (one died) and two peppers (hot).
I'll post a new picture when i get a chance. It's night now.

okay... here we have two zuchinni plants (i think i'm going to spell that fruit/vegtable different every time!) I have 4 cucumbers behind them, potatoes and basil and mint in pots infront. there are two sunflowers in the back. A plant that a friend ripped up and gave me, i suspect to be a pumpkin or squash. a couple of lettus infront of that and what looks like two tomatoe plants, also donated from his garden THANKS PAUL!
Oh. I want to learn as much as possible... so laugh at anything i do and tell me how i can have a better garden. I'M always open to suggestions and opinions!!!!!

Here are my cucumbers at night. there are five plants. They are overgrowing the hot chilli planys in the front. There are five strawberry plants in fron that i am trying to stop them from overgrowing by climbing them up the fence. They don't seem to mind. I have had some trouble with them (see leaf damage) The hot weather has taken it's toll and i hand water with a hose and i'm not always at home. The bugs have since eaten holes in their leaves as well. I'm not sure how to control the bugs. I'll try to take a picture of them. I am totally organic so remember this if you can suggest a solution for bettle control, keep it organic YEAH!

Things have grown quite a bit in the crate garden I'm suprised how well things are going considering that I am growing in about 30cm of dirt on concrete and how I packed so many plants in a small area. I can no longer get to the beans to train them up the wall so I am just letting them do whatever they like. Originally I though I could walk along the crate to access the plants but that idea is now out the window. I'm having a great time watching everything grow

Everything is beautiful and happily growing in your garden! And even more wonders are to come!
By the way, have you seen the plants to be sown in Autumn and the good news about Chrysanthemums??
Cheers!

welcome to the forums, green leaf. great pictures! i like to hear about other people gardening in an urban environment too - it has it's own special challenges I think.
i share your problem about spacing things, i seemed to spend most of last spring (my first gardening year) dividing and repotting plants. it wasn't the best thing for them unfortunately. i was being a bit tight with my plant pots; this year's gardening resolution is to give them all lots of space, and leave them to it!
do keep us posted on your progress. i like the random little odds scattered amongst the plants too...
