Winter garden under snow8 Jan '06 1:20 pm
It seems only a short while since Moosey's garden was covered in snow, and I was sitting in my shorts thinking how far away it looked. Well, just for all you southern hemisphere gardeners languishing in your summer sun, here are some photos of our white post-Christmas week in England. They were taken on my parents farm where webmaster and manager spent the hols in a welcome break from the city.

Lovely post Christmas sunny photos!8 Jan '06 11:23 pm
Well. Aren't they lovely these sunny photos, with this clear blue sky! And the snow looks like the wiped cream on the Christmas cookies and sweets! Especially the lovely Viburnum photo looks like strawberries with cream!!
And such a lucky little girl you've been, Bex, growing up in a farm, close to animals and Nature!

Blue skies and fresh air8 Jan '06 11:58 pm
The sky was indeed amazingly blue, especially considering it had been snowing only a couple of hours before. You're right, Liza, the farm was a great place to grow up with all its fresh air and fresh fruit. London's pollution and crowds are a little difficult to cope with after a lifetime of oxygen and open space, so I run away home quite often to recharge my nature batteries!
The viburnum is such a Christmassy shrub, don't you think? The colours mix well with the red and green holly. It was the only flower in the garden at the time. Our neighbours have got some great winter plants tho, one has purple berries and the other tiny peach flowers. Great relief from the (mostly) grey winter.
