homemade spray for powdery mildew
9 Dec '05 3:36 pm This was featured on Gardening Australia and in their mag...it works better if used as a preventative:
1 litre of water
2 teaspoons of bicarb soda
splash of organic washing-up liquid
splash of vegetable oil
My experience is that it has to be applied fairly heavily
reapply after rain as there is no residual effect
cheers

19 May '06 10:54 am Hi,
My wife does the veggies on our lottie but when it comes to combating mildew, I join in. We have used the simple combination of rainwater and milk with great sucess. We have only used it on courgettes and mellon leaves thus far however. She has also discovered that one can use a dilution of de-chlorinated water and EM. We will try this, this year to see if it is for real...or just a hoax.
