Dog in Pond11 Sep '05 10:49 am
Water feature articles/books never mention the dog in pond problem. After building two waterfalls through my rock garden, digging the modest feeder pond, installing the liner, and firing it all up, Nanook Cana Siberius discovered the meaning of in over her head. On the way out, she nailed the liner to death. Off to get a new liner, bail, haul, and reinstall. Heart to heart talk with Nanook will follow, and I will not give in to those liquid brown eyes and sweet face. Nope. Really. Not a chance. |

Classic
Welcome to the forum, Kathleen, and shame about the pond lining. I bet Nanook had great fun... I guess that's little comfort to you tho eh! Be strong, don't let those eyes work their magic |

Thanks for the encouragement with both pond and dog. She's winning, so I needed that. She's taken another dip, but is mostly curious --- picked up an edge of the liner and tried to haul it out. Have decided I must do new liner and flagstone in one day, but where's that day in the midst of fall clean up, moving perennials around, and planting fall bargains? Plus, as long as I'm relining, I might just as well re-sculpt the pond edges a little --- now that I know what I'm doing. Best do it, though, before the leaves start falling in quantity. |
