Dear Moosey and friends....31 Jul '05 2:59 am
Dear Moosey, I just love the fact that on this adorable tiny planet, I got new friends--and communicate with them!--in less than one day!!
And all this, thanks to my search for my dear Graham T. , his gray leaves, and his no-fragrance!And thanks to my darling daughter, Alexandra, who insisted to teach me about Internet, before she left home to study in England, 8 years ago(:"Why,mom, I can't run to The Post all the time!I know you're not so traditional in many ways! And I know, you'll love this!!Now, sit!!").
And here, I am! Thank you, my Mooosey, for your love to Nature and for your creative, talented Eggy! I already wrote to him , as well, and expressed my admiration for this flowering Website! You know, my daughter Alexandra, works in a similar field as his.
Well, for the moment, old lady cat Tsika,Tina ,and her mom Giny, have no photos taken with a numeric camera.By the way, because of my dear companion,Tsika, I'm alone at home these days:she has Dementia(she's 19)and I didn't want to follow my husband and my little Nicholas( to Athens. Because in my heart I know she'll leave this world quite soon, although she suffers only because of her age: she moves like a human of 120 y.ol., her voice difficulty heard, she is more attached to me, and she has no fear any more..(tragicomic).I want to be by her side when she moves to The Other Side..
Well! Let's return to the Divine Art that blesses our gardens! So colourful, and joyous,and..zen! Well, appart of being a practical gardener(digging ,planting, e.t.c.), I'm a dreamer gardener, as well. So, I just draw with the plants' colours before I plant them side by side (I consult my numerous books as well, about their character, likes and dislikes!) And ,definately, I have a Mediterranean approach: poppy reds (:Trumpeter Rose, Rememberance,Geum "Mrs. Brandaw"etc), golden yellows(Coreopsis grandiflora,Rudbeckia "Golstrum", Roses Amber Queen,Golden Celebration,...Graham Thomas etc),all shades of blues (Delphiniums, Salvias, Geraniums, Scabiosas,Hortansias ),and lots of white with the magestic presence of white Roses (Iceberg,Guirlande d' Amour) and my beloved tall or short white daizies! I think I try ,unconciously, to transfer into my Belgian garden ,a Greek lanscape! That's why all the people who pass outside the house think that a..Spanish or..Italian family lives in!
And , yes! Here are some photos of the garden taken this summer. Dedicated to dear Moosey,Webmaster Eggy, and all the new forum friends!!
All my love, Liza from Belgium

Hi Liza! Welcome. Isn't Moosey the most gracious hostess? Your flowers are really beautiful. Thanks for posting pics so we could see them. And thank that daughter of yours..without her we wouldn't have met you.
I just found Moosey a short time ago myself and I'm just addicted to her site. Everyone is real sweet around here.

Rainy Belgium and old Tsika cat31 Jul '05 9:09 am
Wow! Hi!...Again!
If my family knew, that almost all day long today I'm in front of my PC....
Because, they are all around the planet, and me sitting here with my Tsika, Tina, Giny old lady cats, and my plant world green babies, all alone! And it has been raining and raining here in Waterloo/Belgium since Thanos (my husband) and my little Nicholas went to Athens..Four days ago...And I just can't do anything outside...And my ...green babies look so miserable with their backs bent down and their lovely blooms scattered around by the rain...And, my God! I have to work for days to make all these borders look and be happy again...And the...happy weeds! Everywhere! And the lawn is madly happy too, because of the rain:it has grown at least 20cm!
I' m amazed of how tenderly, affectionately, and playfully, Moosey describes her cats' everyday catlife! I saw the beautiful Stumpy , the grey lady cat of Mooseys a few minutes ago, and I decided to do what I promised to Moosey: to take a picture of my lady Tsika cat, who is also grey ( and not so beautiful), only 19 years old..Here are two photos, the one taken with an annoying flash...
Here in Belgium it is 11pm before midnight right now, so, Good night every body!
All my love from the rainy Belgium!

Something precious about home -made compost?1 Aug '05 2:11 am
Dear friend, Pumkin! Thank you for your kind words! Yes!It is great to share our gardens' colorful beauty, human warmness, and useful ideas, that will make our plants -and us- happier!
How is it possible to "feel" our plants' happiness? But it is so simple : by the quantity and quality of their blooms, their normal growth, and their general health!
And , dear "Pumkin-C. Ex." : I create home-made compost each year in the garden . Do you have any "key advice", like the one you gave with the parsley and onions against aphids in another area of this forum? I would really appreciate it! Because I do admire this natural fertilizer, which is hugely appreciated by my plants ...
Concerning darling Amber Queen: she is so pretty with her dark golden, double, very fragrant , blooms ( not very large, though)! Her beatiful dark green leaves are -normally- not appreciated by the aphids nor by any other sort of sickness! You can prune her so as, to either reach 1m high or more, or remain 60-70 cm tall, according to her neighbors in her mixed border.
And now I'm sending you some beautiful Amber moments.
Be happy! Liza.

Thank you!1 Aug '05 2:36 am
Dear Mtgal!
Thank you so much for your sweet words! Isn't it amazing, a miracle, how Mother Nature works in human relationships!
Because, it is neither ...dear Graham Thomas, nor my darling daughter, Alexandra, that brought us all here to meet! It is the fact, that we feel this magic of the Natural wonders and creations deep in our hearts! And we express it, by either being gardeners -professionals or not- or in any other way; by just being in contact with this beauty that surrounds us, showing all the time our deep respect and love for it.
And the flowering site of dear Moosey is our meeting point! Yes!!
All my love, Liza

Dear Moosey, Dear Nut!1 Aug '05 7:42 am
Dear Moosey!
I discovered these two funny photos of my Tina, taken last June, who has always been happy, joyous, very sociable and fearless, because she is born with a family , my family, always being loved and well fed( 15 years ago). Now I almost kept my promise.Only Giny , Tina's mom, is left. Lots of love!
And, dear Nut! The Thai and Italian kitchens are my favorite, and I do cook well the greek Kitchen (its light version..). But ,my dear friend,is it connected to...gardening, since I only grow a flower garden and not vegetables? That's the question!
Be happy! Liza.
