I'm so excited to have finally made it through. I have been itching to post. Somehow I made it through my first 40 years without gardening. My husband even said I have a black thumb. We are now on just under 3 acres, mostly wooded. The yard has been just a mess. It's overgrown and was overcrowded with the previous owners things. While I was away visiting my mom, dh cleared away the junk and planted some wild growing day flowers that I had commented I liked from another area of the house. I don't think I've missed a day of weeding and terrorizing my lawn since. I am a weed junkie! I envision a Moosey kind of flora fest some day but I must start out slowly. I took some pictures yesterday and if I can figure out the process I'll post them. I figure the worse the before pictures are the better the after, right?

What a great idea. My son, a high-school junior, is studying flying in school. He assures me that an aerial photo of our house would only show a lovely treetop view. I hope you do get Moosey's place from above though. What a treat that would be for all of us!
You'll have to excuse my enthusiasm. I've been reading and reading this site and now it's a bit as if I were reading my favorite book and one of the characters began speaking to me.
Thanks for the welcome and the idea.

Thanks Lisa - Eggy, myself and our friends are all OK.
Was a bit of a close call, I missed being underground at Kings Cross only by a few minutes. Now I have to work out how to get home to the other side of the city Time to move to the countryside...?
Very excited about your 3 acres. Sounds like a fantastic blank canvas. Well, a weedy canvas!

So glad you're ok. Amazing how quickly one can get attached to cyber buddies. Hope you have much good luck finding your way home. I bet the country does sound very good about now. Thanks for checking in. I can rest easier now.
Weedy, indeed! My son and I walked the woods yesterday. We didn't have it surveyed so I'm not even sure yet how much of it is mine. But there is plenty to work on in the obvious parts. Thanks for mentioning it...I know you have lots going on there today.

I have not done anything new since last posting. I had my wallet stolen and that sort of took my extra spending money for flowers and a couple of bills, too. and now while I am being miss ray of sunshine...I have a horrible case of poison oak, ivy or sumac. I don't know which but I hope I never see any of it again! That's what I get for impromptu weeding. btw....is anyone ever tempted to weed in public places? hehe
So, things look pretty much as they did before. It's been raining every day for over a week. Yesterday there was finally some sunshine so I mowed grass and this morning I spent a couple of hours chopping and pulling and carrying weedy trees to the curb.
Now I should get going on the inside of my house.
Take care everyone. I trust you're all well (Moosey on vacation?) Love yas
