21 May '05 10:09 pm Moosey - Since it's wet and muddy at your place, how would you like to come to my place instead, where it's warm and dry, dry, dry and doesn't look like it will ever rain again? I mean, I'd be so happy to slosh around in some mud, look at lovely green grass, drink numerous cups of hot tea, and press my nose to the window and watch that wonderful rain falling. At least, I think it's supposed to fall. It's that long since I've seen any that I'm not quite sure what it does.

22 May '05 7:54 pm I'm no weather guru, but with our recent country weather I'm predicting a wet winter, espeically for the South Canterbury (my) region.
Have already brought the proper top quality (and expensive ) wet weather gear to plop around the farm in.

25 May '05 12:42 pm I quite like mud-gardening. It's just that I always feel like extra cups of hot tea-coffee, and so I try and sneak into the kitchen, covered in mud, without anyone noticing (I even try not to take my gumboots off).
Someone usually notices, and tells me off (I know it's my own house, but we mud-gardeners are sensitive souls!). I'd argue that my socks (inside the gumboots) are actually muddier than my gumboots which I can wipe on the doormat. But I understand it's not a good 'look' in a kitchen. Oops.
And I don't know quite how I'd manage without my three sets of gardening thermal underwear.

Wet Weather Gear
25 May '05 2:05 pm I think I can safely say that I don't know where my wet weather gear is, let alone the thermal underwear. I stripped down to T-shirt and long pants while in the garden this morning. The only mud to be seen is where I have been watering - to make pulling out weeds easier.
I must invest in a new pair of gardening boots - the old ones have the soles falling off them and when it rains they might let the rain in. That is if they don't go screaming into the house at the sight of water.
