no blooms on hypericum10 May '05 3:07 pm
First time poster.
This is the third year that we've had low growing St. Johnswort (sorry, I don't know anything about the cultivar). It's never bloomed. What are some things I could try this year to encourage blooming? It's healthy as can be and has spread nicely, but never any blooms.
It gets good light -- full sun for at least 6 hours during mid-day, and light shade for the rest. We water to keep things looking happy -- I haven't paid much attention to feeding.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
--Danny |

Do you give the fertilizer to your plant or you just always water your plant?The most important thing for the plant is the weather,sun, water,good soil,fertilizer and your love to give to your plant.I am in Thailand at my house I use activated EM the first date that I started to use activated EM my plant still height as my knee for months and I felt boring to do the gardening but after I put the activated EM in the bucket put activated EM a little and put the water in the bucket if the water look light brown then it is ok then just like give the water to the plant just a month my plants were grow taller and taller now they are taller than me it is the thing that make me pround.In U.S.A. they called EM 1.You can find out more detail about EM 1 at the website ;

another first time poster.
my hypericum sounds just like yours! low ground cover, have had it for several years, but no blooms... what's up?? i have a friend who lives nearby, same thing and she has them on each side of her house - sunny, shady, damp, dry.
I'm about to try iron, as my Neil Sperry says they can suffer from lack of ...
any other suggestions will be appreciated.

I dislike my ground cover hypericum so much that I'm thinking of removing it. Mine flowered madly when it was younger and less spread out. Like yours, lately not a yellow peep! I also get the annoying brown leaf look. Good luck! |
