15 May '05 2:29 pm Sorry to bump my topic, but does anyone have any information about Poiwa? Its supposed to be a Maori potato and I'll looking at buying it.
Also, still, no-one has any heirloom spuds I can buy off them? I only need about 5 tubers/seeds (whatever you want to call them) of each breed to make a nice row.

16 May '05 8:30 am I haven't been on trade-me for ages - since last spring where I unsuccessfully bidded for a $2 pot of red hot pokers! I'll have to go back and have a look. I've got those purple potatoes - I can let you have some. They are quite dry and floury, but there are some recipes in this forum somewhere.
I'm not sure how many Maori potatoes there are. My purple was gardened by the childrens grand-dad in Waitaki, near Oamaru - he called it a Maori potato.
