Chelsea Physic Garden Tour

I spent a lovely afternoon at the Chelsea Physic Garden today. Wow. What a setup they have. A secret garden hidden in the middle of London. I'm not going to give away too much of my afternoon, you'll have to catch the photos in an upcoming english gardens article Wink

I enjoyed my tour so much I am going to sign Bex and I up as 'friends of the garden' so we have somewhere special to go to in the summer to read books and laze around on sunny afternoons. (I will take Moosey to The Chelsea Physic Garden as my guest when she comes to see us in London)

Everything about the day was good. The weather held then cleared in the afternoon giving me a wide range of photographic options. The enthusiasm and helpfulness of the staff capped it off. At one point seeing me poking a camera at bees encircling lavender bracts one of the staff enquired if I was interested in flower closeups.

Naturally I was and he took me an a walk for several minutes and introduced me to the flowers of the birthwort vine. 'The largest is under there' he pointed and talked for another minute or two about the history and properties of the plant.

A Wonderful day and some gorgeous photos to come. The life of the unemployed garden tourist suits me...

Some more photos from my visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden and a reminder to self to sign Bex and I up as 'friends of the garden'. hmmm... maybe I'll wait until I have a job again. My life as an unemployed garden tourist is running out of money and steam!
