11 Apr '05 8:41 pm After working for almost four years in the IT Department of a UK cancer charity I am now officially unemployed.
and after 11 years of work on the trot it feels fantastic!!!
I'm going to take a month off from the rat race and finish up some website work and visit some gardens in and around london.
If I can find a square foot of sun on the roof terrace that isn't occupied by one of becky's plants, pots or seed trays I also plan on working on my suntan.
Sadly London is an expensive city to live in so I won't be able to live in this semi-retired state for long, But I should be good for a month.
Today I am going to visit some tulips that have popped up down at the local churchyard after I've finished off the new gardening news pages.
Tomorrow, after sunning myself and watering the website managers plants I am going to pay Wisley Gardens a visit. Would any forum members like me to stop in at a particular garden before summer takes hold?

14 Apr '05 9:13 am how bizarre - yet again an instance of small worlds. Not only am I only up the road from you but Mr Myrtlemount is also a recently unemployed IT person - mac systems analyst. His summer gardening plans go no further than trying to attach window boxes to the girls wendy house though and the proposed pond. Still no sign of spawn in the interim tub sadly. Perhaps the apple tree branch I put down for them to use as a ladder wasn't up to the job.
We have a rather nice tree bergonia and we had planned to try and grow another from seed for my mother this year but I accidentaly threw the seeds away! All in all things are not getting off to a good start.
How far afield do you plan to go with your photographing?
