Cherry Blossom in Japan

I love the way that cherry blossom is celebrated all over Japan, with picnic parties under the trees. Cherry blossom viewing, o-hanami, is such a great way to welcome in the warmer weather and shake off the winter blues. What I would do for a dango now! (seasonal blobs of rice goo with even goo-ier sauce)
The cherry blossom festivities are such an event that the Japanese newspapers report the blossom's progress up the country from the warm south to cooler north. Then they follow winter's return, as the autumn leaves arrive in the north of the country and the progress south.
Maybe Eggy and I could have our own little hanami in Kew Gardens!
