Announcement: New Kitten!!!!~~~!!******!!20 Jul '09 7:12 am
Last Monday nite, July 13th, cautioned hubband to slow down, as I saw reflecting eyes. We slow, and then I see a tiny yellow kitten, bouncing back to his Mom 'cause he's too small to run, and Mom looks to be small, too. We turn around to go back, can see another little yellow one crouching in the grass, calling to Mom. I get out, with moderate kitten struggle, capture this little one. Cross to side the mother and other kitten are now on, calling them, but no response. Baby in arms crying out. Stand in great indecision about just putting baby down, but I know I can do more for its life. So. Home comes the weensiest kitten, immense ears of velvet-down and huge blue eyes. Hastily set up a carrier, fixing the bedding so baby can hide. Heat water and start mushing regular cat chow with a little gravied canned catfood. Also put in bunny watering bowl. Take up kitten to put its wee nose in mush, licks (yea!!), but otherwise, no interest. Next morn, dish licked almost clean and water half gone! Hurrah! Little wee isn't too wee!! Talk to vet's tech, hmmm...about the "stimulating." 'Twas indeed funny, cause little one is doing about ten revolutions per minute while am holding hips wiping, highly indignant: "I a big kitten, I can do that MY SELF, thank you very much!!!"
Tuesday put together bunny cage. Rush off to buy appropriate food, kitten replacer milk, and a larger than kitten plush toy with arms and legs so baby can snuggle. Kitten is eats and I snuggle her (maybe?) so she, he, can digest it. Oh, and yes, we do most certainly know how to use that sand and grass stuff in a box! No purring, no playing, just exhausted sleep and huge baby blues checking you out.
Wednesday afternoon: lots 'n lots of purring! Yaaay!
Thursday: Commences to play in my lap with wee toy. Play sophistication with hips staying in one place and wee front paws pouncing a three time arc late in the evening.
Friday: Ah ha! Tail whipping a couple of times. Immensely enjoys running up and down mine necessarily blue jeaned legs.
Saturday: No fun. Me gone most of day, can barely keep her in lap!
Sunday: Fix kitten-safe masterbedroom. Take quilt off of bed, tell hubband to be careful about door. Zippy-zoom she is! Finally, me exhausted, two and a half hours later: "I be hungry, Mom!" Eats. Zonks out. Whew!! And, oh yes, the whippiest of a wee darker (almost a taupe) striped tail!
Next Tuesday morn we visit vet! Definitive *** id by then!
