He's a real cutie, Moosey. I'm glad he has graduated from the woodshed.

Hi Dixie, Things have been, well, different here. My Deb was in hospital, developed complications, had to have a second surgery. We almost lost her. That's enough to put the wind up anyone, I can tell you!
My main focus since September has been taking care of her. All in all she was in the hospital for six weeks, including 11 days in the ICU. It's been the most difficult surgery of her life so far and she has been very slow to get back to her ol' self. I haven't been modeling my trains or anything. I've just been extremely worried about her.
She is feeling much better these days, thank the Lord. Tonight is my birthday and mom is taking us out for dinner. So I am breathing a little more easy these days. Deb sleeps a lot and still gives me cause to fret, but she is more herself than she has been for some time. Her surgeon said it would take her a long time to bounce back, so I don't push her. (well, I try not to )
Right now we are waiting for our order of seeds to come. Deb and mom had a regular con-flab when they made out the order.Should be here soon. Mom phones and asks every day. My ivy plant seems to be flourishing. It's the one I still have from last summer and my ferns seem to be riding out the winter, too. I bought some bigger pots the other night to make them happier. We also bought 8 mini rose plants for $2 each! What a deal!
Snow is still quite deep here and the temp has been down to -19c for the last few weeks (and colder), but it's supposed to start to warm up starting today.
I feel bad about neglecting my friends here at Moosey, but I have been under a bit of strain and the last thing I wanted to do was post anything. I hope you all understand, especially you, Dixie. I haven't forgotten the puppet I promised you. I often think of it and pull out the wood and look at it and think some more. I've been idle so long that I'm itching to do something creative. So we will just have to see.
Moosey, your little cat is as cute as a button and I'm sorry I hijacked your thread.
I promise I will post more often.
My best regards,
Christopher, your Garden Gnome

GG - You can hijack my threads ANYTIME! great to hear from you, and all the best to your family. Cheers. M
PS Last night for the first time Minimus the kitten slept on a person's bed - all night! Now that's a long way from a maroon Mongolian blanket in the woodshed.

Hello Christopher!9 Mar '09 2:24 am
How nice to hear from you again, even if the reason for your long silence has been far from pleasant. I hope Debs continues to grow stronger, and that spring brings you all joy and a great revival of energy. I send you arms full of South African sunshine, and specially for Debs a great sheaf of fragrant white lilies picked in my meadow!

Deb has her good days and her not so good days. Hopefully more good ones on the way.
Jack, you made her smile.
