Having just watched a video of New Zealand Goes To Chelsea I thought I might follow up by viewing Eggy and Bex's own Chelsea tribute.
I now feel you both deserve a very big and sincere thank you for sharing these superb photos with us.The camera work is stunning, the gardens are so real on my screen that I can almost touch the foliage and smell the flowers.....how about a few garden photography tips Eggy ?
You have put in hours of work taking them and probably as many again uploading them to Moosey's Country Garden.
Thank you both, and whether it was yourselves and/or Moosey who wrote the accompanying text, that also deserves praise.
They are simply wonderful and have given me enormous pleasure. |

Thanks for the kind words you've spurred me into writing an article about the cameras we've used to take the thousands of photos on this site. Should be up in a few hours...
As for the Chelsea and Hampton photos - I promise you we haven't even started We've got an hour and a half of video footage and several thousand photos you haven't seen yet!
Bx and I will be writing something every now and then from our garden visits around england. Moosey and Bex want the newsletter done before I am allowed to work on adding video to mooseyscountrygarden.com so you'll have to wait a bit before you can see and hear the harpist playing amongst rosa salvation.
If you visit a garden, flower or horticultural show take a camera along and report back. |

I'd love to see photos of Moosey-acrobatics included in the Arabesque is Gumboots article - do you think Steven on a secret mission would oblige?!
I promise to include the Harp score's title for you to recreate the ambience yourself |

I think Moosey and I are pretty much in the same age group so it is a fairly safe bet to say that getting down to capture the moment is only half the fun, it's getting back up again on creaky knees. There is usually a bit of descriptive language involved when I fall on something or tread on a cowering wee treasure.
My digtial camera is a Canon Powershot S1 IS, it won't do quite the macro yours will but overall we are pretty happy with the quality. I went for zoom and Image Stabilization over more MegaPixels. My brother in Australia has the Fuji FinePix S5000(or rather his boss does)and he is rapt in it but would like to upgrade to your model for himself.
I must take issue with Moosey grumbling about her photography, to my eyes those photos are downright beautiful. That Canon A20 is an excellent camera and because it has a high quality lens will take superior photos to some of the higher MP cams with cheaper lens.
I do not know much about the technical side of cameras, some shots are obviously better than others , however unless they are truly bad I am happy to save them and maybe post the occasional one here . |
