14 Oct '09 1:35 am A few pics from this year's Floriade. We almost didn't go this year. We kept putting it off because of the weather and on the day we finally intended to go it was still a bit windy in the morning and I just didn't feel enthusiastic but we made the effort in the afternoon and although the weather kept us guessing we had a very nice time.

I've always tended to think of South Africa and Australia as rather similar: colonial, English, South, far-off, dry... but every now and again I realise that Australia is closer - in spirit if not geography - to Europe than we are!!
