Is this the view from the Macflax's garden? Good Lord. It is truly gorgeous. You could forgive a property all sorts of sins for a view like that. I swear I would never tire of it. |

A friend of mine would describe your view as 'not too shabby'...
Will you accept my compliment as being that it has replaced a foliage composition from "Fine Gardening's" wallpapers as my current desktop? I love the series of horizons folding in one behind the other - I think there are few landscape effects more satisfying, or more varying, as the different areas respond to the changing light. We (that's ME on behalf of US, not the royal plural) demand weekly updates on your view. We too want to experience your glorious view in all its moods!
Thanks for sharing, MacFlax!! |

Oh my , thank you both .
Yes, I love the "series of horizons". That's why I rushed to get my camera. |

I'd been waiting for another photogenic sunset and finally it came, complete with series of horizons and sunbeams radiating out between the clouds, beautiful! And where was I? Out in the garden, sweaty and dirty and camera-less. A couple of hours of work had turned into seven hours. I'd neglected the pruning a little in recent years so there was some catching up to do. The pittosporums especially look a little ratty now but new leaves are beginning to sprout. I also did some planting, and annoyed Mr Mac by requesting barrowloads of soil from the naturestrip at the bottom of the hill while he was trying to get on with the paving. A drawback of living on the high side of the street. But in the end we were both happy with what was achieved.
Today I managed to take some more photos of the sunset, though I may have missed the best of it. It changes so quickly. Just when I started to become aware of a lovely glow around the windows I had to turn my attention to something else and by the time I got to the window and then went to get my camera it was fading. As it got darker the colour intensified again but it was difficult to hold the camera still enough in that light to get a pic in focus. This is one of the better ones.

... gotta love this time of year. We're a little behind Jack I think - weather wise that is. The leaves are just beginning to turn, and the days have been crispy in the morning but hot and still for weeks now. This view is fab. I love the twinkling lights. Out on the farm (or farmlet!) we have a rural view with no night view what-so-ever. I miss that from stints living by the harbour. |

That is definitely a world-beater view you have there. The sunset is lovely but I like the first view the best as we can see the river (?) and the lay of the land so well. Having the land layered like this sure is photogenic.
You have a lot of projects in the works and I am curious now to see how things develope. Please do keep us updated. I'm curious how long you have been there and when you started gardening. Have you always gardened or did you come to it later like me?
Thanks for the views,

Oh dear, I think I've missed Moosey. I didn't think she was leaving for a few more weeks. Happy travels Moosey!
I feel like I'm plodding along very half-heartedly lately, with interruptions and distractions on all sides. I'll try to set aside some time to post something about my garden, and how I came to be interested in gardening, soon. |

No rush MacFlax... I know all about what plodding and distractions feel like. As always we look forward to more garden pics and news but only when you've finished chasing your own tail! |
