Absolutely irresistable! I'd have to buy three, or five, or seven of each - see, I've read the gardening books about planting odd numbers! Cheers, and good wishes for spring.

The snow is beautiful,27 Feb '08 3:26 am
still I am sure you are ready for spring. We have had a pretty mild winter here, this year. Usually we get one or two days of snow that actually cover the ground, all we had this year were a few sprinkles of the white stuff on Thanksgiving Day. I would not of even noticed it at all if my daughter had not been outdoors at the time, it never reached the ground.
The flowers in the pictures are not planted yet, there is still a chance it will freeze again. Right now they are all sitting on my dining table, had to be brought in last night because of a cold front and high winds. The garden centers always jump the gun a bit and start selling the plants a little before it is safe to plant them. Non gardening hubby may not be thrilled but all the lovely flowers covering the table looks pretty good to me, at least til I have to make dinner .

Your spring flowers are beautiful faerisweet, have you planted them out yet?
I agree about the early starts the nurseries spring on us, occasionally I have planted out a second lot of seedlings two weeks after the first and they have out grown the originals!
otnorot, are they lamps which are just visible in your first photo? Can't wait to see your garden when the spring arrives, looks like some topiary there

Thanks, Pumpkin6 Mar '08 7:34 pm
I haven't got them planted yet because we are expecting a freeze and snow this week. It has been a very mild winter, we just had our first snowfall a few days ago. It wasn't very much, just enough to dust the ground nicely. I am sure if it does snow again, it will be the same, just a dusting and gone by noon the next day. Here are some pics of our sad little snow event, it was a bit thicker as it snowed the previous evening but I didn't get out the camera til it was half gone the following morning.

I guess we are making up for the mild winter...7 Mar '08 8:55 am
we have already had 3 inches of snow today and expect a couple more. Schools have closed, even the little store in our town has closed down because employees couldn't get to work. I had to pick up my son at noon and the normally 10 minute trip took 45 minutes. We are just not prepared here for this kind of weather. This is a very rural area and we are not even an actual town, no police or city services of any kind. So, of course there are no sand trucks or anything to come out and keep the roads open. I took a few pics I will post later. Sure am glad I didn't plant any tender new plants yet.

what I thought would be just another dusting ended up being about 6 inches, and we may get a little more overnight.
