15 Feb '08 6:24 pm Hello my name is brandan i'm 28 and i live in Fort Pierce Fl. I am located on the east coast. I am fairly new to this gardening thing but have become addicted to growing palm trees, orchids, and all kinds of tropical plants and flowers. I hope to find out some tips and info from you more experianced gardeners.

Welcome
15 Feb '08 6:31 pm WOW...What a SPECTACULAR introduction.
The forums have been so very quiet lately,(where is everyone!)so your picture was quite an impact.
It will be so interesting to hear about your plans for a tropical garden-all the best from New Zealand.

19 Feb '08 6:49 pm A Florida boy like myself has no clue....cannot fathem how cold that is. You know your a FL gardener when it gets down to 31 degrees and it is then refered to as the "Big Freeze" and everyone remembers when that was. I have so much respect for yall "Northern Zoners" for the effort in keeping all of your plants growing from year 2 year. Those are great shots of snow. Never get to see that.

Love your pics! Auckland (NZ) where I live is surrounded by water and the beach view looks so familiar!
The 2nd photo is awesome! I can almost imagine sitting on those fabulous benches beneath the palms, looking out to the ocean Wow!

19 Mar '08 5:27 am cajunangi Welcome to the sunshine state. I am sure you have adjusted to the climate just fine. That ocean breeze cuts down on the sweltering heat. T-Shirts, Shorts and Flip Flops are a norm. You have it very nice down there. All except traffic. Do you have a plot to grow in or are you living in a condo?
pumpkin I have looked at many many pictures of NZ. I am a traveler and this is 1 of the stops before I die. Is is so beautiful. Waterfalls and the landscapes are incredible. Do you have any good scenic pictures?
Here is a picture of a palm growing trunk under water. It has 2 little turtles hanging out on it. My camera has a crappy zoom. This is a little arm off of the St. Lucie River
