Good-bye to Autumn!12 Nov '07 4:44 pm
Yep, Liza - it's good-bye to the beauties of Autumn and "Hello" to the softer more shy ones of Winter! It's already been a while since we've enjoyed the fall colours here so now we have to look more closely to see the beauties of fungi, mosses, berries and bark as the days grow shorter and darker!
Your pictures were a wonderful "Last Hurrah" for Autumn. I enjoyed them all!
Cheers!

What lovely pics!13 Nov '07 12:16 am
I spent much too long savouring your pics, trying to place exactly from where each one was taken... I see the bridge has been fixed!
I WILL still see a beech wood in its autumn finery
And finely that is what swung my decision: my new wallpaper is no 5 with the beautifully fluted bowl on the right and the horizontal branches of an airy beech wood... (althougth the very golden one with the figure and dogs came a close second... perhaps next month?)
Thank you for the many trips to that special place...

Farewell to Autumn!!16 Nov '07 9:23 pm
Hello my beloved ones!
You will not believe it, but , yes!! I work so hard --and SO happy-- these last 3 days in the garden!! With 05 Celcious and an adorable bright sun!!
Two days ago, I visited my La Hulpe nursery for supplies, and of course, I visited the graceland! And THIS time , Gordon, was the REAL Farewell to Autumn!!
And , Jack, almost all of the previous Chateau photos were taken last year , at EXACTLY the same time of the year!! But look at the difference! Last year the gold was STILL on the trees, whereas now is mostly on the ground! Concerning the adorable bridge, you will see it in my next part of captures again. And, no, it is NOT repaired yet, unfortunatelly...

Once again, great pictures, Liza! The sunlight was so bright and beautiful! I think there is something very special about autumn sunlight; somehow it seems to shine through everything and brighten the whole world! Everything looks so clean and fresh rather like spring sunshine, yet somehow different!
Enjoy the weekend!
Cheers!

THANK YOU!30 Nov '07 12:15 am
Dear beloved friends, I am SO happy whenever you share with me the deep feelings I feel for my plants and the blessed Nature places I cherish!
Here is the second part of the photos I took about 2 weeks ago in the Chateau. It was the same day I had visited my La Hulp nursery.
And, Jack , you can see here the lovely bridge, not fixed , yet...

Reveries of Autumn30 Nov '07 7:12 pm
Boy, Liza, you sure know how to set a wonderful mood with the latest batch of pictures! It seems such a long time ago that we had fall colours here, yet it was actually just a few weeks ago. It was great to dream of the lovely autumn days, while, at the same time, imagining the beautiful days of spring that I saw in Dixie's pictures from the other side of the world!
Most of the recent snow has now melted, so I was able to get out and dig up my cannas and tigridias today. The bulbs and tubers are now in the shed to dry a bit before being bagged and brought inside for the winter. Tomorrow it will be time to dig the gladiolas, which I'll give to a neighbour who loves them. They really don't do as well for me as they should, as they don't get quite enough sunshine here, but he has lots of sunny places for them. I think they'll be happier a couple of doors down the street!
That's it from here today!
Cheers!
