Back to the waterhole - hey Jack, what happened to the South African cricket team?
Second thoughts, that's got absolutely nothing to do with the webcam at the waterhole. More like a crowing kiwi, if there's such a thing... |

what a difference,21 Oct '07 3:54 am
a few weeks make. I became hooked on this site after you posted it. It has been less than a month since I first started watching it and I just noticed how much it has greened up over that time. |

I got to see some deer type animals,21 Oct '07 6:24 pm
just now. Of course I have no idea what they are, they looked like the springbok picture you posted, but not sure if that is what they were, beautiful anyway. Got to get back to it as I have noticed that usually after a herd of one animal comes and goes another will show up soon after. |

Impala21 Oct '07 9:08 pm
What you saw, Faerisweet, were impala. They fill the same ecological niche, but are usually found in drier country. They are so plentiful in Kruger that we tend to refer to them simply as 'bokkies' (little buck, or deer) |

They were beautiful23 Oct '07 4:17 am
animals anyway. So far I have seen alot of birds, the impala, zebra and some type of monkey (baboon of some sort?). I was surprised by these, as there does not appear to be alot of large trees. |

Baboons23 Oct '07 4:39 pm
They would indeed have been baboons. Although they climb well, they are ground-dwelling on the whole and love stony 'koppies' (=hills). They often roost (or whatever baboons do at night!) in trees. |

Revisiting the site25 Jan '08 10:38 pm
I went in for the first time in months...
Just look how the grass has grown this summer!
And there is a new site, in the trans-frontier park in the Kalahari desert, added since last I looked.

Enjoy! |
