Chelsea Flower Show, etc.23 Jun '04 5:43 pm
I think the Moosey Garden Team should be warmly congratualated for the reporting job they did on the Chelsea Flower Show, with their great descriptions, wonderful photos and just an enjoyable report to read. Each year I watch and tape the Show on tv, but I've missed it this year as our tv stations have been shuffled twice this past year and I've track of the station that regularly aired this gardening event. I'm eager now to see if I can find it again and hope it hasn't been aired already.
Moosey congratulations on your 6-month anniversary of semi-retirement. You sound much happier with things in general and in your garden especially. Congratulations also, although belated, to Eggy on his birthday. May the year ahead be your best yet. Your birthday was on the same day that we celebrate Father's Day here in Canada and the United States.
So nice to see your garden diary up to date and it makes interesting reading. No matter how long I've been reading your garden diaries, I'm still bowled over the number of wonderful plants that bloom and prosper in your winter weather. The pictures always give me a boost as I sit and ponder my frozen and snow covered garden in the dead of our Canadian winter. This year our spring and now the beginning of our summer has been unseasonably cool and wet, so our temperatures are probably similar to your mid-winter temps. We're definitely dressed in similar gardening clothes. Still wear my fall/winter jacket some days and evenings while out on the deck and gardening. Hopefully July will be a warmer month here. My garden seems to be very happy though.. Well, it's late and I've got to be up early tomorrow to get some gardening jobs done between rainstorms . Bye for now Mary. So nice visiting here again. |

More Chelsea Flower Show Photos on the way!5 Jul '04 10:17 am
Thanks for your kind comments Jo-Anne, I hope all is well in Canada The UK Garden Paparazzi have been busy lately and we've fallen a bit behind schedule
I've spent the weekend compiling the best photos from Chelsea and our recent visits to some of London's private gardens. The next month is going to be a busy time at Mooseys Country Garden - The Hampton Court Flower Show is in two days time and we also have a visit to RHS gardens Kew and Wisley coming up this month.
There are hundreds of photos coming and some of them are simply stunning. The city and courtyard garden photos offer garden ideas and inspiration you just can't find in a Zone 4 New Zealand Country Garden. |
