So, yesterday, I was inspecting my roses when I found this creepy kind of bug! It looks like a bee or a fly, only it's kind of flat. There were three of them, each sitting at the tip of a rose leaf, head pointing toward the end. They were clamped on. I assumed they were sucking the life out of the leaves, so I picked off the leaves and squashed them. Sure enough, I then found one on a totalled leaf. What they heck ARE these?! Ew!!!

Strange bug
3 Aug '07 2:57 am Well Messymoops, I'm sorry but it seems that the few active forum members lately don't have a clue as to what this bug could be. A photograph might help, but if that's not possible then the only thing I might suggest is to try finding a good reference book on common garden pests and check there. You could probably find one in any good book store and just look for your bug while perusing the book. Then you don't have to spend the money to buy it. Sneaky I know, but most gardeners would much rather spend their garden book money on one with lovely garden photographs than ugly bugs.
