Jack, I'm so sorry you're not well. Make sure you take it easy, ok? Oh, and it's nice to see that doctors are the same the world over - it's never convenient for them to see you when you need to is it?
On another note, I'm finding it really wierd to think that you and our southern hemisphere friends are in the depths of winter (and even coming out the other side, from what I read in Moosey's journal!), especially as our summer has only just started - in a way it's a bit worrying to realise that everything's so late up here, but I'm glad for you that (hopefully) the worst of the weather is over for another season and you're going to start enjoying all the activity of spring again soon.
Hope you're feeling better v soon.
Bambi

Poor Jack, I'm sorry to hear you are ill. Just remember to take in lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. Sometimes our bodies tell us what to do and we ignore the messages. Listen up!
Hope you will be feeling fine again soon and enjoying your approaching spring.

Thank you for the thoughts!15 Aug '07 4:06 am
With only one dose of doctor's medicine taken, and the next due after I've snacked, I feel human again.
Perhaps it is due to postponing the play - which confused you, Lisa! I am in charge of the school play. It was due for performance on 6 & 7 September. I was late in getting the script ready - an adaptation from a novel and a play based on the novel. At times I despaired of ever getting it to work and wondered why I had chosen this route, instead of selecting a nice ready-made script... Now I've got it ready. But between now and performance dates there are only 9 days - including a 'closed weekend' - when all the cast will be at school and (hopefully) available. We have three different grades away for a week during this period. Yesterday I decided there was only one option: insist on a postponement. Miracle of miracles, the week of 8 October was perfect! I think the sheer relief of it has made me better. (Or the thought of cranking up the energy levels of a cast of 60 (yes: sixty)was making me ill.)
AND...
this morning as I drove to work I saw some beautiful blossoms on a crabapple just 30m from my house. So at the first opportunity I shall photograph them and post the pic as proof that both winter and my blues are on their way out!

I was just about to send along another cyber bouquet and good wishes but am even happier to hear you are recovering. A cast of 60! Scarry.

When I arrived home late this afternoon the dogs and the camera and I went for a walk. I must admit that we battled to find signs of spring, but they are there, and I will add a few more shots over the weekend...

Jack, I like where you are.17 Aug '07 9:30 am
I like very much the way your deciduous trees look in the distance with their fine tracery of white against the darker background. After a spell of that the first buds on the tree is another special time. You seem to be enjoying both those times at once. Are all of those azaleas yours? I wonder what you do -or will do- with them all? Always nice to see Muscari. I think it is my favorite harbinger of spring.
Long may you and your trusty camera stay well!
