Trying out the new camera18 Dec '07 7:15 pm
Got a new camera for my anniversary, Nov.1st, I love it but have alot to learn to be able to do all it can do. These are my first attempts, taken about three weeks ago, just as the garden was winding down for it's winter nap.

sold as pinks, they smell sweet, but I have never seen pinks like these before.

Pansies,18 Dec '07 8:03 pm
I will get to enjoy these for awhile longer, the only thing I have that seems to enjoy the colder weather. I also have the larger dark purple and the larger bright yellow with the dark faces, didn't get pictures of those. I got sidetracked by the kittens, started taking their pictures and forgot all about the pansy's for the day...

I can't believe, even with all my busy times these last months, that I've not seen your thread since early October. So I picked up from the drive to school and shared all until your serene and touching 'late at night preparing for Xmas' message. Thank you! Such a message means so much more than all the forced red and green and white hilarity one sees in the malls every day (even in a little village like mine we are not immune!)
I have wished all on Christopher's Xmas chat post.
I did not realise that you set Bambi off with her camera to photograph the trip to work - I read that MONTHS ago. In fact I photographed MY trip to work in response, but never posted it because I was too busy. Since then I have copied all to disc AND reformatted my laptop. It might almost be easier to rephotograph rather than find it! I should make it a holiday project. Especially as I've not done too much garden photography - the summer just gets wetter and wetter.
Anyway - it is wonderful to know you are now in the heart of the Moosey family. From all we've heard 2007 was a great year for you - may 2008 build on past joys!

Dixie, I love the pansies too, they do well in the cool weather but Texas summers do them in. Luckily by then the coneflowers, salvia, and all the other warm season flowers will be back. The kitty is Cali, I tend to favor her over the others, tho I do love them all. She is just so much like her mommy Patches, whom I adore. You have inspired me with your fairy garden ornaments, I bought a fairy with a gazing ball, it had a plain yellowish fake stone finish, so I painted it. I will post a photo when I get one, I think it turned out rather well.
Jack, Thank you, I love Christmas but sometimes it seems like a competition, (at least here in the states) from the decorating to the gifts, people try to best each other, it seems to take away from the holiday spirit.
I would love to see your trip to work, I am sure it would be very different from any thing I may see on my way. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful gardens and getting ideas ( on a much smaller scale, of course) for my own.

New camera and Christmas joy21 Dec '07 12:11 pm
Hello Faerisweet and Merry Christmas. Reading your touching Christmas post reminded me of so many years past when I loved to do the same thing. Now that my children are no longer in the house, it is sometimes more of a chore to put up the tree, but I do still love to see it all lit up. I am also so happy for you seeing the lovely photos you are getting with your new camera. How fun! I will look forward to lots of beautiful spring photos from you in a few months.

me to paint this fairy ornament for the garden. It was so plain before, and seeing how cute Dixie's fairy garden is, with her handpainted fairies, I decided to give it a try. The before picture is not too clear, the only one I had tho.
