crowding plants29 Sep '07 5:30 pm
I am sure I am going to have to move alot of things, I don't think I have obeyed any of the distance recommendations. That is alright tho, if I have to move alot, I can always use the extra's to start another area, right? Hubby says if I had my way I would turn the whole yard into a flowerbed, he is pretty close, a little lawn with soft grass to lay back and day dream on (as I did when a child) would be o.k. to keep.

lovely plants for my birthday..2 Oct '07 6:09 pm
Sunday was my 45th (getting older) Went out to breakfast with my son and when I got back hubby and daughter had put a wooden post with a cute horseshoe/texas star bracket and hung the morroccan lantern on it, in the new garden area. I was very pleased, then I got lots of plants, snapdragons, pansies, some pinks, (that I have no idea what cultivar they are, they are double flowered with several on each stem and smell sweet, and they are taller than any others I have.) petunias, persian shield and mums. Perhaps not the most exciting plant choices, but hubby and kids are not plant people, they just know mom likes flowers, and for them to pick out plants for me touches my heart. Hubby made dinner, chili dogs and french fries, followed by my favorite pie (coconut cream) in lieu of a birthday cake. Just got to love them, a truly wonderful birthday because tho it may not have been a gourmet meal or the top picks on my plant wishlist, it was a real effort to please and from the heart, I am truly blessed.

Happy Birthday, Faerisweet3 Oct '07 6:01 am
You're at a wonderful age - old enough not to care too much and young enough to make the most of not caring too much. Have a wonderful year, in and out of the garden!

Bambi: Thank you and yes, it was a really nice day. I now have to plan a special day for hubby, our 21st anniversary is coming up Nov. 1st. I am thinking a weekend away, just the two of us, it's been awhile since we have been able to do that.
Jack: Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing more of your lovely garden so far away.

A gardener's Birthday!3 Oct '07 9:18 pm
Oh, dear friend!! I just share SO much your happy feelings! It is great when your loved ones try to please you in this way! My family also is a non-gardening...society! But , they do try to please me in other ..flowering ways, Birthday or not....You know , sending flowering e-mails,flowering cards, bouquets of flowers , and so on...
It seems, you had SUCH lovely Birthday moments! You know, at my 45 I gave birth to my little Nicholas, while everybody was taking me for ...nuts! I never regretted that!! I have the best Angelic friend by my side right now, in his 10 -- how quickly time passes....My two elder children were 20 and 15 , when Nicholas was born --- by the same dad -- and now they are all SO very close , although the older ones are living away by now...
Dear friend, I wish you from the bottom of my heart, to always be happy and serene, within and without!! All other "precious" things naturally follow then, including health and money...

Fall in Poolville, Tx11 Oct '07 4:03 am
Today is the first day it feels like fall, cool morning temps and crisp clean air, I love this season, even tho it means the garden will soon be sleeping. Driving my daughter to school, it was so beautiful out, all I had was my cell phone but I took a few pics on the way back, out the car windows. I was careful and made sure no other traffic was on the road, so it was pretty safe. Anyway here is what early autumn looks like in my part of the world. Not really alot of color yet, that will come as it gets cooler.

Lovely landscapes...11 Oct '07 6:09 pm
It is just great to experience all this lovely little trip, every time you accompany your daughter to scool, Fairysweet! And you are SO lucky that you have a daughter, and such a lovely one ! I adore my sons, but I would be unhappy without the fulfillment my daughter gives to my life!

I agree - what a gorgeous journey you have every day! Mind you, my own isn't too bad - perhaps we should start an "Every Day Journey" thread so we can all see what everyone else sees on a daily basis?
