The last Spring bloomers...30 Apr '07 8:32 am
I just passed by my computer to say ...I love you all, and that I am awfully garden-busy!! Please, forgive my not commenting yet, in your lovely latest posts...I promise I'll do it very soon!
I felt I had to send you these last bloomers' photos of the Spring Garden I took last week, cause -- so early this year!!--- the Roses are already full of buds and the first Clematis flowers and white Daisies have started appearing during the last two days, meaning ....it smells of Summer already!...
You will see here the Chinese Azaleas Cecile (salmon) and Luteum (yellow)of the back garden, my red Japanese Azalea, and the Ceanothus of the entrance garden. Also , of the entrance garden, in the garage area, the pansies are happily blooming! And the lovely little Lilac of the Heart Border has been really lovely! You will also see a photo of Dicendra Spectabilis of the Front Garden , and of a ground-cover pink Flox of the Entrance Garden.

Liza the colours in these photographs are stunning! It is a lovely reminder for any of us 'down-here' gardeners whose gardens are shutting up for winter. And the simple things like a pot of pansies can bring so much joy.
I love the Ceanothus. When I first came to this garden there was a huge one, brilliantly blue in that first spring, seen from the house. The very next winter we had a snow storm and the tree just broke apart and split itself up. Though I promised to plant a replacement I never did.

What a relief.30 Apr '07 10:50 am
The last of your spring blooms are just beautiful Liza. And I have to admit I was very relieved to see them. I figured you were just very busy, but I was still a little worried.

Beautiful and worth waiting for,Liza - Spring flowers have a unique freshness that lifts the spirits so much, and you have put them together so beautifully .I,too, like Ceanothus -I had one at my old home ,but have not so far planted another .Does anyone know how well they grow in shade please? Your pansies in blue pots are perfectly delightful !
I have noticed that the lovely little violas I had last year have popped up lots of seedlings -I had thought they were hybrid, so a nice surprise ,so have lifted them carefully ,will weed and re-plant them again ,and take a PHOTO with my NEW DIGITAL CAMERA -did I mention that I have a NEW DIGITAL CAMERA ?
Dixie.

Thank you ALL, my sweet ladies and dearest Mark!!
Ceanothus is one of my beloved shrubs, but every winter I always protect him with a special clothing against possible frost, because this variety is sensitive...
And my garden frenzy is going on! Today I finished my tasks earlier, that is why, I did stay a little longer here, and, after replying to certain of your posts, I started a new summer In Love Diary!
At the moment, I water the whole garden almost every day -- not a raindrop for a month! And I finish my transplanting of self -seeded, healthy and good plants to a more proper spot in the borders... Weeding is an every day task...
Dear Faith, thank you for your concern! I hope your lovely garden has recovered from the frost damage...
And, my dear Dixie friend/gardener, I think that no artistic garden-heart today can live without a digital camera! Like I told you in your Back Garden post, I am thrilled for you!!

Your beautiful spring garden27 May '07 10:08 pm
Your garden is so beautiful and colorful. So much larger than my little patch so far. It will get there eventually with inspiration from folks like you, how can it not expand and grow? I love your heart border, I would of never thought to build a bed in a heart shape, how unique. I am so glad I joined this forum, all the lovely gardens give me such ideas. This is my first day looking thru here and I have seen a lovely little fairy garden (caught my eye right away as I am so fond of fairies) and now your beautiful garden. I can see this will be one of my favorite places to spend a rainy day like today. It is too wet and muddy to be out enjoying my own garden today, but visiting yours thru your pictures, makes that o.k. Thank You for sharing..
