I have been wondering where you are Pumpkin - also our special 'Goose' ..You think your garden is boring - we probably don't think so -Don't forget some 'Before 'photos ,so we can all admire the anticipated wonderful results .What part of Auckland do you live ?The volcanic soil and the warm climate makes for great gardening .My son has planted a tropical garden in Kohimarama ,which is rapidly growing .(the plants)
Liza the freshness of Spring colours is shown beautifully in your garden now .Thank you .
Dixie.

Amazing, these Spring surprises!!18 Apr '07 9:45 pm
Absolutely gorgeous! Just admired your wintery pics not too long ago and to see the marvelous transformation of your paradisiacal garden to spring is absolutely astounding, dear Liza! The lushness is so appealing as are the brilliant colours of all your beautiful flowers. Excellent captures too! Thanks lots for sharing, dear friend and bringing joy to my day!
Hi, Pumpkin! Love your duckie shots! How blessed you are to have them share your place! Thanks for posting!

Liza you sure have the color!20 Apr '07 1:46 am
Here I've been thinking that spring is just coming slower to California than to Belgium but now I realize that's not it. (Silly thought: when was the last time we each got snow?) Zuzu hit it on the head. You're just getting more pop, reaping what you've sown. I probably need more bulbs, specially the Anemonas! I so like the view from the top of your stairs and the view up the stairs from the bottom. I also love the view in the back, #'s 3 and 4. The garden feels so spatious but enclosed at the same time. So nice to be in your garden again, Liza.
Pumpkin is singing my blues exactly about that miser, father time. More gardening and on-line time sorely needed. Jack's story about the hippopotumi crossing -but especially the story about the gardener apologizing for her trampled garden- really cracked me up. I should never again complain about the squirrels robbing me of my plums, cherries and persimmons. But last year there had been so many and we got so few.... no, no more complaining! I wonder what a hippo fence looks like? Bet they don't jump too high.

Liza's spring bounty20 Apr '07 2:03 am
More wonderful photos of Liza's beautiful garden. I think if I had just been "scarified" I might look a little rough as well. Picture eyes the size of saucers and hair standing on end. I loved the photo taken from your entrance gate out to the street. Made me feel like I was knocking on your door for a visit. What is the large yellow shrub? I am guessing Kerria, but yours is so much more full and lush than any I have ever seen. I have a couple of little ones that seem to struggle wherever I put them. They came from my dad, who had beautiful and very prolific ones. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Thanks for the new pictures.
Hippo fencing? I haven't gotten to that post yet, so now I need to go there.
