We have often in the year I've been on the forum had one or more of us saying in some way or another what you've just said. Possibly one of the unique qualities of gardening as a form of expression: that the whole transcends the effort... that finally our statement is only in the service of nature's statement.
Thanks for the compliments anyway

Well Jack, what more can I add that hasn't already been said. You and Autumn continue to work magic. Oh what I would give to have some of that beautiful rain you were getting. If it's not too much trouble, would you send a little of it my way next time it comes calling?

...Even about the rain!! This is the 5th Belgian Spring week without a drop of rain , and with Belgian Summer temperatures.... They announce a little rain on Friday, though...
But THIS Autumn of yours -- as I also stressed in my previous reply, is DIVINE! Yes, Jack , here we have some more photo-prize pictures, plus a dreamy Autumn Nature, just around your very home! "Super wow!!!", my elder children would say...

A new dawn...27 Apr '07 6:17 pm
Today 14 years ago South Africans woke up to a perfect and peaceful morning, long lines of people of all colours queing together, and we realised with an almost religious awe that we had achieved the near impossible...
We had avoided potentially the bloodiest civil war in the history of Africa, and instead were celebrating the Rainbow Nation.
This photo is to celebrate the New South Africa!

What a nice sentiment to be celelbrating. By the way, I got my rain yesterday and it was so wonderful. If you sent it, thanks.

I am so excited ,Jack ...and forum members ... and interested strangers...Yesterday I bought a digital camera -the Autumn leaves have just started colouring this week so I reckon soon I might just be able to say "this is what is happening in my garden TODAY ! "

You'll never look back! Best of all is that it is free once you've bought your outfit, so you can play away and delete the shots you don't like or which aren't successful. You'll find you need a few new tricks, and some of your old tricks don't work, but you'll soon get the hang of digital photography!
ENJOY PLAYING
And we meanwhile wait in anticipation...

That's great Dixie,29 Apr '07 6:16 pm
I'm sure you'll love it. Snap off a hundred photos. Look at them full screen size on the computer. Choose the best and go. Best of all when you become knowledgable about trimming the file size to the necessary size I can pick your brains for tips.
Jack you are truly the master of Autumn and I'm love your photos.
