On the alphabetical first page of Grown ups go down to 'advice' .Bobbity's article on 'uploading avatars' is about the sixth or seventh down .
Also : try ~ All programmes ,(at bottom of computer screen ),go to ~ Accessories ~ Paint~ Image ~Attributes ~ Units ~unit of measurements .....type in width and height of units of measurements in the little boxes. Eggy has got the required measurements somewhere .
Actually ,I have my photos scanned and in folders ,then browse to get photo and when I put it in the forum page it is usually small enough ,so am a bit puzzled as to why yours aren't accepted.
Best wishes
Dixie.

I have been back and read the instructions again about putting an attachment on. I need to press the o.k. button. Will try now.

Posting Avatars2 Apr '07 1:20 am
Hi Tess, to post an avatar go to your Profile. Scroll down until you reach the Avatar Control Panel. There you can browse for an avatar, either from Moosey's library of Avatars, the web, or your own files. The photo must be reduced to no larger than 120x120 pixels and no more than 20 KB. To post the photo you have chosen, click on Register. You should then see your Avatar posted. I have a problem reducing my photos to the proper size with my current software. I hope this won't be a problem for you.

Thanks to the good efforts of my son, I now have an avatar! These are our two Burmese cats, the brown one (Santi) is the male and his half sister (Bijou) is the cream one.
Will just have one more try to post another photo, fingers cressed!

I absolutely Love your avatar ,TJ .
Your seat looks inviting -is it convolvulus beside it ?(the Nice convolvulus )I bought a little plant but have not decided where to put it yet .I like the informal way you have it ,and will wander around my garden with my plant and think .

Yes Dixie, it is one of the good branches of that family, this one is so rewarding it just keeps on flowering for months on end.
I am sure you will be able to do good thinking and find a place in your garden where it can cascade down for your pleasure.

Hi Tess6 Apr '07 2:21 am
and a belated welcome. I'm glad you were able to get your avatar up and post pictures. Your learning curve has been much more impressive than mine. I had so much trouble learning to do that that I gave it up for weeks until just recently. I work on a MAC computer in a program called "I Photos" and just wasn't able to choose pics from there to post at Mooseys. I finally found that by first "exporting" the photos as JPEG's I was able to specify sizes that work. Whew!
I love the convolvulus around the bench. Very happy plant and inviting seat. I notice you have hundreds of beautiful pansys. Do these reseed themselves for you?

Hi All (Tess and Mark in particular!)
So much has been happening of late, with newcomers contributing enthusiastically and humourously. Wonderful, and welcome, Tess. (Only just picked up that's your name...) Mark, I downloaded your page from work yesterday complete with large pics - I try to avoid that using bluetooth and mobile from home - and can now study your post and start coming to grips with the huge amount you have already contributed. I was discussing gardening with Wynand, my sister's step-son-in-law in Windhoek, Namibia, last week. He has just started gardening professionally (see my post http://forums.mooseyscountrygarden.com/garden881.html ) and he was asking advice about where to get a broader background. Thinking of your posts I said to him 'considering your climate, look to California, not to Europe for inspiration'and told him about my impressions to date of your world. So you see - we get together here for a friendly kuier (pronounced kay-er - Afrikaans for visit/fellowship) but our contributions can influence people around the world...
And then Christopher (GardenGnome) is back! Mark and Tess if there is one person whose name you should click on and go back to read their posts, then it is Christopher: more wit, more joy, more energy, more talent you are unlikely to find in one person anywhere in the world!

Hi Tess!7 Apr '07 1:07 am
...and WELCOME!
Such fabulous flowers you have in your lovely garden! If these were in my garden, they'd be my favourites too! I especially love your white showers in the first pic and what are those pretty autumnal coloured leaves behind them? And your callas are absolutely gorgeous and vibrant in their colours, both the yellow and the majestic red! And your pansies, wowed me too as well as your cascading convolvulus! So many to admire and delight! Thanks for sharing and bringing a smile to my face!
