Hi, Claireyhairy (what a handle!! )-
I don't know where you live, but here on the west coast of N. America, we plant garlic in the fall and let it grow until harvest the next autumn. My problem with it is that, as my garden is so small, I have to crowd it in around other plants and along fences, so that when it's time to harvest it, it has already died down for the winter and I can't find it. So it stays there and re-sprouts the following spring, multiplying in the process. So now I have lots of garlic but can't ever find any to eat!!
All the best, and keep us posted on your experiences with garlic!!
Cheers,
gordonf
