Bug report for Eggy19 Apr '04 8:32 am
The email forms don't seem to be working.
I was hoping
a) to subscribe to your newsletter
b) to ask you to review the site with FireFox because there are a few problems. |

Problems viewing this website in different browsers28 Apr '04 6:28 am
Olwen,
I've seen a few problem in firefox / firebird too and have them in my to do list We don't have too many firefox visitors to mooseys country garden and getting the newsletter up and running and some UK garden photos taken have been my priority up till now.
The Problems I know of in Firefox :
Home Page : The borders around the menu sections aren't always four sided - sometimes the bottom black border isn't drawn. & The menu sections occasionally have a single pixel blue line thru them.
This is a wierd one that doesn't affect all the menu <ul>'s I can flub it by increasing padding in CSS but this overcorrects for IE - the majority of our visitors.
I want to avoid User Agent / Browser based CSS detection if at all possible. I use a couple of tricks to hide from netscape 4 and thats all.
I can fix the blue lines and will in time - the black border will need some research. Unlike the problem below this one is aesthetic and doesn't affect the overall functioning of the site for firefox users.
Content Pages : A CSS clear:both in the <div> picture tags at the top of pages is creating a top margin that shouldn't be there. Probably Firefox being standards compliant again! * having to code for the masses!!!
Text flows freely across this margin and is difficult to read etc.
I can fix this easily with a CSS change but this will require a code sweep and cleanup of the 1000+ pages on the site. Bx likes to let these types of changes build up a bit - this change might take a couple of months to make.
I have seen a nasty problem with the a:hover on the navigation arrows near the top right of each content page but I'm sure I fixed that.
That'll do for now methinks. There are a couple of other minor problems in firefox but nothing of the scale of the top margin above the top image with text floating in the background one. If there are Let me know of any clunkers I've missed please!
P.S : If you think it looks bad in firefox now, you should have seen in Nov '03... |
