A work in progress...18 Dec '06 12:46 pm
Finally I have just a few photos taken at the weekend to share with you. I gave up and had hubby take them.
Firstly though, some photos taken when it was a bare section, just to give you an idea of what's what. (The photos were taken on our old camera and are a bit grainy. The new ones are clearer.)

Family-13.JPG
This one shows the front entrance (obviously) with daughter and myself. This was taken about 3 years ago, give or take.

This is my daughter's garden. She'd been wanting one of her own for ages so we put this in recently. She chose most of the plants, although I helped her with planting the roses, which include a Scentasia and a Golden Celebration (I think! I need to double

This is at the front. We have a 'The Fairy' rose, an Oyster Plant (Acanthus Mollis) in flower in back. A white agapanthus not yet in flower with some purple/pink yarrow in front of it. A maple of sorts, looking rather tatty (the wind has been very unkind

Bother. I 'rambled' too much in the descriptions and some of the text appears to be missing.
I'll fill in the blanks later as I have to dash out the door. Things to do...
More photos at a later date.

Back from dashing out.
Where were we?...
In the photo with The Fairy, there's also a Yellow Charles Austin, no longer in flower. Sorry.
More blooms are on their way though. And next to it there's a white single, once flowering unnamed rose.
And not that you can tell but in the next photo, at the back are 3 foxgloves that look like they're not going to honour me with their flowers this season.
There's so so so much to do in this garden but it's going to take me a lot longer to get it to where I'm happy with it as a whole. (Lots of ideas but I need to spend less time dreaming and more time doing...)
I'll get around to showing off more areas around the place (1 and a quarter acres to fill in) but that may have to wait until we're back off holiday between Christmas and New Year and I can devote some time to weeding. Because you don't seriously think I'm going to let you see all my weeds, do you?....

Thank you ,Anna - very interesting to see 'dimwip' (dirt in motion work in progress )Is one and a half acres your house section (gulp) or your whole area of land ?
It's a lovely area ,with scope,I should think .I like your black rails at the entrance ...I was really taken with 'Meg' .Is it a rambler rose or a bush rose - it is so sweet.

Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures, Anna! Nice scenes and great crowd of plants at your front. Love that Meg rose of yours, an impressive shade! A huge area indeed to handle but definitely rewarding as you progressively toil along! Keep us posted!

Weeds! Where?19 Dec '06 7:47 am
Dear Anna, if we even thought there were weeds in your photos we would all screw up our eyes and squint - that way they would be invisible. Well, that's what I do in my real garden. Imagine the shock I get when, just occasionally, I wear my super-focus wear-when-driving spectacles. Aargh! Weeds!
Thankyou for posting the pretty rosy pix - and I love to see the old pix, too. How exciting that your daughter has her proper own garden, too.

I get a similar shock ,Moosey, when I have on my super focus wear-when-reading glasses and looking in the mirror.
