Hamilton Gardens - selected photos over the years22 Nov '06 1:08 pm
Since I haven't gotten around to taking any photos of our garden stuff (I am getting there! Promise!) I thought I'd upload a few piccies from various visits to the Hamilton Gardens.
I must admit to having my favourite gardens within the HG. The English Garden is tops with me and the Italian Garden comes a close second.
There's not much of the rest, photos-wise, because there just isn't...
So... in no particular order, some random shots...

Also coming out of the Chinese Garden. FIL posing for us here.

I can't remember whether this shot is seen from the Japanese Garden or whether you glimpse it as you enter the main garden entrance. Urm... that general vacinity anyways...

I think this is where we're heading around the back and you can go left and you'll end up in the rose gardens.

More photos to follow. They were a little big to upload and I had to edit them as I went and I've run out of time!

Where are they found, the Hamilton Gardens, Anna? They are so terrific, and we have to know more about them! I was so impressed!

The gardens are found in Hamilton city itself. I'll have a look later and see if I can find a link about them. There's bound to be something somewhere.

The above site should hopefully tell you everything you need to know. It gives a rundown on each of the gardens.
Apparently there's 58 acres worth. This I did not know.

Thank you for the website ,Anna .I like to visit the gardens regularly ,but couldn't find any photos to add .I like to go to the specialist shows such as roses or dahlias - sometimes a quilting exhibition .However I am fascinated the most by the sustainable garden -how to create compost ,herb garden ,fruit and veges in a rotating system ,in a compact area. If you have any more photos I would enjoy seeing them .

I'm sorry I don't have any shots from the sustainable garden or even the Rose gardens.
We always tend to go the our favourite spots.
I must insist on hubby taking some piccies of the other areas as I noticed while I was 'cropping' piccies that we've repeated quite a lot of the same shots, although they were taken in different years and seasons.
Anyhoo... here's some more, and again in no particular order.

Again, out of the Chinese garden, this time with my Dad and my daughter.

If memory serves this shot was taken as you enter the gardens. Libertia isn't it?

This is Kimi the Papillon. She belongs to a friend who was with us the day some of these photos were taken. This was last month on my hubby's 50th birthday.

I have no idea what this plant is. It's in the English Garden and it's certainly impressive! Any ideas from the audience?
