The Miracle ....16 Nov '06 9:32 pm
I don't know if you have realized this... Something deeply human, something that deeply touched my heart again these days goes on here... This compassion and tenderness that flows everywhere in this Forum, like a golden river of unconditional Love... It is expressed by simple, wise, sincere and tender consoling/admiration words, by colourful inviting Nature photos, or by inspirational humor and hillarious photos! Don't you see? This is a miracle that goes on here! We, the persons that never seen each others' faces, eyes, never hugged each other dearly, but have so deeply touched each other's hearts!! This is not fiction, this is REAL!
Since I posted the first photos in this topic, the garden goes on living, goes on changing colours.. But it is YOU (!) , that made me notice, watch better this Autumnal garden of mine... You taught me things , that I repeatedly teach to my children, "Live in the NOW, because , THIS is the beauty of it! The Past is over, not real any more...The Future no more... Maybe the Future is NOW, only the NOW is real! We should not miss the beauty of the NOW ; if not, how is it possible to notice deeply the beauty that surrounds us, to really feel it...".
And so, yesterday, I took some photos of the beauty that surrounds me...It does! The beauty of the NOW! Actually, YOU are the beauty that surrounds me and inspires me... So, I dedicate to YOU , my precious Forum friends, these Autumnal photos... The Roses you are going to see , though, are brave performers, and actually only the "shadows " of their true potential...

Remember this Cherry tree of one of my early Spring posts? It is actually one of ...the Cherry Trees Late in The Autumn...It was gloriously awakened...Now it is preparing to go to bed..

Miracles are taking place primarily inside us , dear Jacqueline! And then, they are simply expressed around us, as physical reality.. "Think positive", remember?... Thank you for being there...

Winter Garden...4 Dec '06 5:01 am
Right now it is raining and blowing outside...It is a warm December, though.. The most of the garden trees have lost their colourful leaves... Some of the Rose bushes have still some timid, moist, dark-coloured blooms, like the everblooming Mozarts, Icebergs, and certain yellow bloomed lady Roses. The magical blue Geranium Rozanne, the great apocalypse of this gardening year, is still in bloom, like nothing is happening...And , of course, the bright coloured late Chrysanthemums, the lovely Greek cyclamens, are all, still, extra happy!
About fifteen days ago, before I travel to Athens , I wanted to say farewell to my garden and took some more, the latest for this year, photos.. I had found most of them quite "sad", and decided not to share them with you then ...But now, I find them all beautiful, and very descriptive of the late Autumnal Season ...So, here they are !

Liza, they're just beautiful! I particularly love your sweet pink-edged single rose (photo no. 32), and the fiery gold of the chrysanthemums you have in the basket is so autumnal in the best possible sense!
Your cyclamen have made me look forward to next autumn too, because I have some cyclamen seeds I'm itching to sow when the spring comes, and I'm planning on planting them all out underneath my acer and hoping for a bit of a show in that corner!

I love the rose hips photo too but I'm really taken with what I think is a pink penstemon, 6th from the bottom. I assume it's a penstemon. What name does it go by, if you happen to remember?

Late November blooms5 Dec '06 1:53 pm
Oh dear Liza, how many lovely things were still blooming for you in late November. Here in my garden, all that is blooming now in early December is the pansies, violas, sweet allysum and snapdragons that I have just recently planted. These will carry me through the dreary winter months until the spring bulbs begin to bloom in late January. Many of them are already sending up their green growing tips, but it will be a while before the blooms follow.
I can see why you changed your mind about the photos upon later reflection. It's amazing what a different perspective some gloomy weather can give.

Dear , sweet Faith, believe me, I think your garden must have a much happier look right now than mine. Because you live in a much softer climate, and you have such beautiful wooden features here and there , that will always add exceptional personality and beauty to your beloved garden. And also the Nature around your garden is so magnificent, no?
And all these plants I describe blooming are just insignificant little colourful creatures here and there , that soon will fall in their winter sleep... Well, it is so ....brown and wet the garden now, Faith...That's why I adore watching all these other blooming lovely gardens of our Forum members. Yes! Your garden is lovely! Believe me!
