I think I know who I must approach about presenting photos beautifully!
What wonderful shots of the richness of life in the garden, flora AND fauna, added to which the most beautiful presentation. How do you do it, Jacqueline?? What program do you use? (And how expertly you have used it!) At work I shall download them all to my forum pics file...
Your nine butterfly collage must rank as one of the most perfect picture postings in the history of the forum - both as a beautiful picture and as a story behind the picture!
Congratulations

Hi, Jacqueline;
Thanks a lot for the tutorial on making collages! I've bookmarked your site and printed out the directions; now I just have to read it all and start practising! As you may remember, I managed to create a collage or two earlier in the year, but I couldn't get great frames around the pictures as you did, so I'll be really interested in that part of the tutorial!
Today, I brought home my new 8 foot high Lilac, "Beauty of Moscow", which I've been wanting for years, ever since it was first introduced here from the Soviet Union! I also got an impulse purchase, a new Phygelius, dwarf, with flowers that are pink on the outside and red on the inside of the little tubes! Just HAD to have it!!
Well, have a good day and all the best for the rest of the week! And thanks again!!
Cheers!

Updating our garden joy!24 Aug '07 1:26 am
Sharing some garden pictures and 'visitors'! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Sorry for procrastinating, my dear friends!
By the way, you may be wondering about my orchids not being pictured in their natural garden setting! Well, I had wanted a dark contrast, so took them from the frontyard to our backyard where a large black refuse bag drapes over our gate to prevent our dog from barking at cats or rats that rove behind! I like the lovely outcome, don't you?

Mophead Hydrangea bloomed again in July. Its whole pot with bottom removed was placed onto the ground and the plants seem happy and healthy - probably they like the coolness! :) Today, I saw the tiniest of buds or new leaf growth? - hopefully the former!

Eye candy!24 Aug '07 4:16 am
Wow! I don't know what that spiraling vine is called but I find it captivating. I have to wonder how hardy it is (with plant lust in my heart) but I will have to wait for someone to I.D. it. What a graceful growth habit!
I just recently bought a Ruellia brittoniana on line, inspired by a photo of yours. Coming to me so late in the season here I expect I'll just pot it up through the winter in the shade structure to be safe. I'm not sure where it will go yet but I intend to put its incredible folliage color to work somewhere, as well as its nice blue blooms.
Love those heliconia flowers. Apparently they can make it here though the one I got last year died this past winter. I'll probably try again some time.
Now that I've got a pond I'll be looking forward to attracting dragonflies in as well as encouraging them to breed here. That red one you photographed is stunning. Most are to some degree, but that one is especially nice I think.
Thanks so much, Jacqueline.

Mark chose the perfect description for your beatiful photographs. Thank you for posting them. I truly enjoy your artistic combinations of photos and the way you frame your individual shots. Your orchids are fantastic! Any of your photos would be perfect for framing and hanging on the wall for art.

Ditto for Me!24 Aug '07 7:36 am
Hi, Jacqueline-
Wow! is all I can say about your latest batch of pictures!! If this were a competition, I'd never post any of my pictures! I loved the dragonfly pictures and the collages, especially. That spiral-stemmed plant is so cool! I, too, wonder what it is. And I liked the background for the orchid pictures - it lets one focus completely on the perfection of the flowers. That dove sure was tame, or are they all like that (or perhaps you feed them?? )?
I saw only one dragonfly in my garden all summer this year, but I had a hummingbird caught in my window between the Venetian blind and the glass yesterday. I guess it must have flown in through the back door and tried to get out through the window, which was closed, then couldn't figure how to escape from the blind. When I lifted the blind a couple of hours later (when I had figured out what the noise was), it flew back out the door!
Well, I can only say that your latest batch of pictures was well worth the wait!! Good on you!
Cheers!
