If we'd stayed there I would have eventually gotten around to adding shrubs, flaxes and hydrangeas etc, etc, under the front of the trees. But sometimes the trees just need to get a bit of growing underway before the look works.
Where we are currently I'll probably be doing things the 'wrong way around' as I'm impatient and don't want our place too look too barren for too long.
We have planted a lot of natives in places but they're small specimens and will take a few years to look good. So I'm going to concentrate on the front to give drivers-by something nice to look at.
